I visited this practice twice within 3 days. I’d been suffering from a toothache which I believed was infected. I paid £22.70 and walked into the room and started explaining that it had been many years since I’d been there but my issues had started a year ago but worsened in the past 3 weeks. The dentist must have misheard and basically started correcting me on when I had last visited and said it was not a year ago. I repeated what I had said but the look on his face showed he wasn’t impressed. I sat in the chair for 2 minutes and I was sent on my way, I even said to the dentist is that it. He checked my tooth and filled it without cleaning then told me to book an appointment for further work. Not much was said on his part. That first night was a slight pain relief but still some discomfort. The following day I had pains but they were bearable until the evening. I hadn’t slept at all and was in so much pain I called 111. They advised that I book an emergency appointment. The next day I had spoken with my colleagues father who is a dentist and has his own private practice. He advised that my tooth should have been cleaned and from the symptoms I’d told him about it sounds like an infection. So I attended my second appointment and walked in advising the same dentist that I’d been in agony. He looked at me with no care in the world and no reaction and put both of his hands up as if to say ‘so’ or ‘and’. He said that he’ll prescribe antibiotics for now and said that he had not cleaned the tooth as he did not want to make the hole bigger or worse. I’m very upset with my experience at this dentist, I don’t recall going through any of this at my last visit years ago. I felt extremely uncomfortable and almost like I was being profiled. As though the dentist had an issues with me. Nothing was explained from him regarding my treatment and I was very offended by his actions like we’re friends or something. There was no professionalism on his part at all. I understand people have bad days but this isn’t that. As a person of colour, his whole vibe made me feel like he had a problem with that. I’ve been on the NHS website prior and post my appointments and I am aware of the standards. I wasn’t shown any of this. I would like to resolve this and give the company an opportunity to put things right with me. I’m a complaints manager and don’t like to complain myself but if this behaviour continues in my following appointment, I would be looking to take things further.

I used to come here to have a dental check-up before I went to Atlantic Dental Practice. The dentist I saw left to go to Australia and I got someone who was Turkish. He wasn't great and that is why I left. It is convenient to go to, but I decided to go to the one in town as it is more popular.

I visited this practice today and had a very pleasant experience the staff are friendly accommodating on the reception, especially when booking further appointments . The dentist Rhian who told me she was new to the practice was just lovely, she explained everything and advised me on future care and products to use, the dentist and dental nurse were so kind and friendly they completely put you at ease. I would highly recommend this practice especially if you’re a bit nervous and I look forward to my next visit instead of dreading it!! Angela Billing

Very very nervous patient, that's what I used to be! I have spent my life afraid of the dentist after having several bad experiences when I was young. As you can imagine I needed to face my fear if I wanted my smile back. I read the reviews on here and decided to see if Rhian was available. The reception staff first offered me an appointment with some one else. I asked if Rhian was available as I had read her reviews, they thought she was full and not taking on anymore patients, thankfully after checking with her they gave me an appointment. I had my final visit today and Wow, I feel like a new lady with a brilliant smile! Rhian and her wonderful assistant were very professional, patient and reassuring. I felt embarrassed when I first went in but that disappeared straight away. Rhian was gental, and always explained what she was going to do before doing anything. I had my full treatment done within 6 visits. I will stress to anyone who is as scared or embarrassed as I was, to please give Rhian and this practice a go, you really won't be disappointed. The reception staff are all friendly and very covid safe. One receptionist Kayley, was great at pushing the appointments around so I could get my treatment finished before Rhian had a holiday, so grateful, Thank you. I know it is a long review but I wanted to encourage nervous scared patients to get their smile back just like I did! Thank you so much to you all.
