Great club, great place to spend weekends with the family. And the after school kids club for the children has freed up so much time for me to be able to train after work.

I always loved this place but lately maintenance issues have had a toll on my visits. Sauna out of action one week then the Spa pool then the Steamroom. Dirty shower area and faulty tap. I know it could be better. Come on Virgin lift your game.

Staff are inconsistent in service as well as attitude. Same could be said about the facilities.........sometimes they work and other times they don't. I distinctly feel that there is no strong management structure and the staff have not been properly trained. There is no uniformity or company ethos. The place is constantly in a state of repair. The toilets and changing facilities are also dirty at times. There are severe crowding issues at peak times and during school holidays. Great gym if you have a young family, but for me, I expect better from a Virgin brand name. Sadly, the only time Virgin have shown good service was in the beginning when I was signing up. This place is not value for money. My wife and I will not be renewing my membership.

I have belonged to 8 different gyms in the US and the UK. This is the worst. Facilities are old and broken. No Sauna for 3 months. Bikes are mostly broken. Pools are often shut down. No or little response to complaints. They don’t care (except front desk staff who try to help) badly owned and managed. Many cafe personnel are rude and provide zero service. Today I give up!

Virgin Inactive? "We’re sorry to let you know that we will be permanently closing Virgin Active Brighton. Our last day of operation will be Sunday 21 November 2021. The site will revert to the University of Brighton for its own use and therefore, it is no longer possible for us to keep the club open". 😢😭😱😖😫😡🤬

Needs a little money to be spent on equipment and paint and maybe a little less on the 30 staff who on on shift just walking around! At its price bracket it should be a high gym but in reality it's above average at best.

I'm happy they're finally closing this place, forced me to look for a new gym and there are ALOT out there that are better, cheaper and properly managed. The building is falling down in places and whenever it rains water drips everywhere. The equipment is old and maintained to dangerous levels. If the new owners do decide to keep it open, I won't be stepping back into this place until it's completely rebuilt and the entire staff changed to people that have a can-do attitude.

I have been a member at Virgin Active for a number of years on and off. Sadly with very little warning all staff and members were informed that the gym was closing in 4 weeks. The doors will close for the last time on 21 November 2021 A huge thank you to all staff at the gym. I hope you all get jobs in the near future.

Joined just before COVID-19 hit and membership was put on hold for free. Only just gone back properly and was surprised how it’s is run now. It seems they have perfectly balanced the need for enjoyment while minimising the risks of COVID-19. Wish I had gone back sooner.
