Very poor after-sales service on an expensive high end amplifier. Shipping was also very expensive compared to other UK stores. Won't be back.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Incredible range of vintage guitars. I saw an acoustic dating back to 1929! All sorts of guitars - rock, jazz, acoustic, bass etc. Also sell vintage cases, pedals and amplifiers. And stock a small range of new items too. Fantastic treasure trove spread over three floors. Worth a visit for any guitar enthusiast.

Always a pleasure to visit V n R in bath, even in these difficult times. Great new website makes temptation even harder. Glad all the guys are OK, so if you need good expert advice about anything guitar or amp wise then that's the place to go. Rock on bro's.

5/ 5

My recent on-line purchase from VnR was a true pleasure. It required a wire transfer of funds performed easily on my bank's website and because account information given by VnR was accurate, it went smoothly, however clearing the bank did take 9 business days. Shipping to US via UPS would have been equally smooth, but the customs agent overlooked that the guitar was 'Made in the USA' (despite all forms being correctly filled out by VnR) and therefore returning to its 'country of origin' and despite this fact, assessed a customs charge (~10%) and a brokerage fee which delayed delivery by another week in order to sort out with the folks at UPS who were very helpful after I was able to contact someone in their Customs Dept. UPS' method of notification of it being held in storage was given by voicemail which went undetected for 5 days on my iPhone. I suggested they also send alerts via email in the future. So it took three weeks to receive the guitar but it was definitely worth the wait as it was in near-mint condition (as advertised) and played wonderfully with both a clarity and sustain that was beyond my expectation. I recommend VnR without reservation and complete confidence to any buyer in the US who is thinking of purchasing a guitar from VnR. I found Tucker and Steve 100% trustworthy, accurate in their description and reliable in packaging/shipping and would not hesitate a moment to purchase another guitar. Thanks, mates!

Tucked away in the centre of Bath, this shop is a treasure trove for any and every guitar enthusiast

5/ 5

Tucked away in the centre of Bath, this shop is a treasure trove for any and every guitar enthusiast. Steve heads up the shop, with his in-depth vintage guitar knowledge, and ability to setup guitars to make them more playable and loved. Prices (IMO) seem reasonably competitive and you know some TLC and experience has been applied to ensure that 'what you see (and read) is what you get'. The next time I'm in Bath, I'll definitely be heading their way (check their website as you might have to book an appointment in these COVID times).
