Pre 1920's art was beautiful and clearly created by highly skilled artists. Post 1920's 'modern art' however is far too pretentious for me and could've come from a primary school for all I know. That's not the sort of art I like. There was a ceramic art exhibition on too by James Tower, although some pieces were nice again I couldn't really see what use fuss was all about. Staff were nice too.

I love art galleries but this one didn't do alot for me. The building and the architecture is lovely but the actual artworks weren't my cup of tea. A nice place to wander around regardless.

Sometimes art museums are my thing, sometimes not. Like the Bath Fashion Museum, this was an inexpensive add on to my Roman Baths Museum ticket. Right now, they have the Rumors of War exhibit which is actually quite interesting as it showcased work from a selection of artists who interpreted through their works everything from the worry, terror, catastrophic, and downright ordinary for the people and soldiers of Great Britain during WW II and shortly after. The rest of the Museum showcased work from the time of Henry VIII forward. I admittedly breezed through that part so that I could get back to the Roman Baths Museum.

Small but wonderful gallery with beautiful paintings. Miss Alice, a volunteer guide, was wonderful and took her time to explain the history of the museum, the paintings and the area. She was so sweet and knowledgeable that made our visit even more interesting!!! Lovely to chat with her.
