5/ 5

I have used this service multiple times throughout my time at the university and have always had great service, the doctors and reception staff are kind and explain things carefully. Once you understand when appointments become available each week it is easy to book appointments or you can ring and book directly. There is often a wait time of 5-15 minutes but this is a free health service and I'd expect delays in most clinics, the wait is because they won't rush you out of an appointment!

Rude reception. Doctors are always late. Booking system is one of the worst. Next available appointment is always at least 2 weeks away. Once, I was recommended a prescription by the UHS that did not work. I looked up a YouTube video for the same that gave me better results instead.

2 months ago I went there and told my GP I had severe insomnia and depression . However, he said he was not able to provide any medication for me... it wasted my 60 minutes ( mostly waiting in the health service and waiting for my turn) I have booked an appointment 1 month in advance, afterwards, after the long waiting, I have gained such a useless advice from GP. Feel speechless and wonder why I paid loads of money to NHS?

Only interested in getting you back out the door. God only knows the secret password required to get the receptionists to actually give you an appointment and once you are finally seen, you’ll be out the door with a prescription in less than 5 minutes, no matter your ailment - even faster if it’s a chronic issue or a follow up appointment.

The receptionists here don't seem to be very well trained or professional, or maybe they just can't be bothered. I called a few weeks ago about a cough (not covid) and was booked for an appointment a few days later. On the day of my appointment I wasn't called, only received a text and voicemail stating they tried calling but couldn't reach me so won't be trying again. I called about the same cough a few weeks later with a different receptionist and this time this other receptionist said I should try calling the next day for an emergency appointment. So it seems like the same issue is dealt with differently depending on which receptionist you get. In this same call I replied that yes I have negatively PCR tested, she asked if I could provide evidence, I said I'll check if I have a text about the result because I receive texts after I do lateral flow tests. Then the receptionist started explaining to me why I need to do a PCR test because they're more accurate, even though I told her 15 seconds prior that I've already tested negative from a PCR test.

They were unable to find out what was wrong with me so just sent me home without trying to find out what my problem was! Not only that, they also refused to refer me because they just decided I wasn't that ill, and that it was all just in my head! So they sent me home with painkillers, without a referral, diagnosis, or treatment, and told me to "try meditation"!!! Fast forward I'm now on steroid treatment for a severe inflammation, and had to take 6 and a half months off my PhD! That's half a year on sick leave. Obviously I got treated only because I changed practice. The place is an absolute disgrace. University should find another partner GP practice.

My whole experience with this surgery has been incredibly worrying and has added extra stress during times when I already was feeling low due to problems with my health. After two attempts to get medical attention with this surgery, I was left with no choice but to register somewhere else if I actually required medical attention. The negligence I was faced with is, of course, not an issue with all members of staff but the extent of it even for one person is unaceptable in my opinion.
