Phillip and Vivienne were incredible hosts, and made us feel so at home (in their home)! Rooms were very comfortable, clean and had everything you would need. The breakfast was amazing, like you have never had before! We’ll definitely be back at some point. The hiking in the area is great fun and so picturesque! We experienced mountains with mud and snow! Thank you and see you again soon. X

Staying at Underleigh House is a real treat. The location is ideal, our suite (Derwent) was very comfortable and spacious and Vivienne is the perfect host. From arrival to departure we were very well looked after, for example being offered a tea tray in the lounge on return from days out. The breakfast is second to none in terms of choice and quality, an experience in itself.

Vivienne - the owner - is a fantastic host. She and her late husband Phillip created something very special in a wonderful setting. Despite arriving at Underleigh House much later than we said we would we were given the warmest of welcomes when we arrived. Downstairs the walls are festooned with photos of their family and the most accolades for hospitality that I have ever seen in one place. All entirely justified. We were astonished by the breakfast; there were so many choices and everything was utterly delicious being freshly cooked by Vivienne - aided by Carol. There is a guest lounge with a wood stove and I took the opportunity to catch up there with some emails (there is a strong wifi signal throughout the house) - only ever so slightly distracted by Bella the (very friendly) cat! Our bedroom was cosy and very comfortable; in the morning we opened the curtains to see a field full of sheep one side and the valley on the other. The bedroom fridge contained fresh milk (& soya milk as requested). We much look forward to our next stay at Underleigh.
