Hello, I admit I had a few qualms about the float before doing it. Would it be claustrophobic, would I get bored, would it be scary. The answer to all these questions is no, no, no, and again No!!!
The float 'tank', I would say actually a huge covered bath tub is really so roomy, there is a possibility of putting a light on and the roof to the tub is easily movable, so total light from the room can be let in wherever you want. However, my overwhelming desire was to close out all light!!
At first I enjoyed myself just moving around in the water. I felt like a little child in the womb. As the water is full of salt, it supports your entire body weight, and I could easily move around and do stretches around in my body.
I became more aware of my body totally, all parts of it, which parts had more tension, which were more relaxed, which were longer, which shorter, etc. etc. The other part of awareness was the sounds of your own breathing and heart beat become audible. You are more able to totally relax by simply focussing on different body parts.
The next phase is more meditative, as everything slows down, you become aware of your own thoughts, gradually the thoughts slow down, and then, . . . and then. . .
You hear a bird cry!! Wow, there are birds around, and now I have become more aware of them!
No, this is the recording that gradually wakes you up and tells you it is time to go!! Looking forward to the next time when I will become more relaxed, and enter more into my inner world!!
