Hire date 23/05/19 at 3.30pm: The two lads on the desk were absolutely amazing with fellow customers from Germany and when was my turn.. had good banter.. unfortunately, the 5 Series I had booked was not available... However, I was given an upgrade to a Velar for a very good price and my family were very happy. Everything taken care of and away we went within 45 mins.. great car.. returning car was painless and simple.. All I all I would recommend! Cheers lads!

There are a number of rental choices at Glasgow Airport to choose from, however, we have always been happy with the service we've received from Thrifty. If you book and pay for your hire at least a week in advance, you'll get a very competitive rate and the staff are always very pleasant indeed. One note of caution would be to be certain of your rental dates, as should your circumstances change and you have to modify your booking, you loose what you've already paid out and a new booking (and payment) is required. All said and done, we're happy to recommend Thrifty at Glasgow Airport based on our experience over the past 2 years or so.

Arrived back with the car literally minutes to spare before my flight, the man was helpful in receiving the car, and did it as quickly as possible - so I made the flight, great customer service

Billed me hundreds of pounds for non-existent damage. Completely failed to follow the procedure set out by the relevant trade association (BVLRA), presumably because they knew it was all b.s. Threatened to report them to the BVLRA, did complain to my card company and also requested extensive “evidence” (including CCTV footage) under Freedom of Information legislation. They gave a full refund. Purely as 'a gesture of goodwill' of course!

Tried to book online, and a day later i get an email, saying sorry the car is not available. One line emails from customer service staff arent helpful, how about a solution? or do you not have any cars available?

A terrible experience. I would advise not to come here if you have a EU citizen driving licence. The lady at the reception, Tina, was extremely process driven and not customer centric at all. After spending a lot of time gathering all the paperwork she needed, she has refused taking my proof of address pretending I have falsified the bill! Unbelievable! I am not the type of person to moan or give negative reviews, but here I had a robot in front of me, stuck with her script and internal policy! The irony of the story, I went to a car rental next to them who sorted everything for me in 10mn!! For those who want to speak with human people and not to struggle with tight processes, run away from Thrifty/Dollar!!

Unbelievably bad. Have hired cars all over the world and I've never had an experience like this. They refused to give us the car because "my proof of address hadn't physically come through my front door". Everyone's utility bills are online now. And despite bringing a passport, valid driving license, credit card, DVLA code and intentional driving license which also has my address on it this was still not enough as company policy apparently dictates that a utility bill had to physically be posted through your letterbox. I've not had this issue with any other car hire company anywhere in the world and I 100% will never be using Thrifty / Dollar again. Was very nearly stranded at Glasgow airport as a result of the pure muppetry of this policy. Luckily I've managed to get a car from another car hire company. They even had the cheek to try to charge me a no show fee for not being able to pick up the car. Outrageous!
