Do NOT go here if you are mentally unwell because it will just make you worse. The staff, while appearing to be sympathetic and helpful, are actually completely useless. They lie, are very condescending, frequently rude and questioning of your background before you were referred to them. They make you feel almost as though they are doing you a favour just listening to you, whereas, in reality it is their job to listen, empathise and try to alleviate your stress. In my experience they exacerbate my stress levels and are of no help to me whatsoever

DO NOT GO ALONE. Thorpe Coombe Hospital has left me with lasting trauma. Having been there multiple times, I've been shouted at, dismissed, lied to, and abused at the worst times in my life. Please take someone with you to appointments, it makes the staff treat you more like a human being. Some staff are kind, but there are many who just don't care, or worse, enjoy the control and power they have over vulnerable people. If you have to go alone please record your appointment, you do not need anyone elses permission or knowledge to do this, as it's for your own medical notes. Look after yourself, as they might not look after you here.
