The Willow Tree cambridge

Worth a visit but don’t bring the kids. We ate here last weekend. Service was friendly but it took absolutely ages for any food to arrive. When it did it was lovely, and it’s a reasonably nice place to wait for adults but the children had all had enough long before their food arrived which meant none of us really got to enjoy it.

Couldn't recommend this place more. After having been recommended the willow tree as a venue for our marriage my wife and I came for lunch with a couple of friends to check it out. The food was excellent and the venue unique and beautiful. We confirmed that we wanted to get married here and things just got better and better. We came back three or four times to arrange the day with the owner who made us feel completely comfortable from day one and even thought of things that we hadn't thought about for the day. They helped us to build a bespoke menu for each of our guests and based it on our tastes. We came back for a food tasting and tried each of the courses which was a lovely evening in itself. When it came to the day itself everything went seamlessly much of the thanks has to go to the owner Shaina and her staff who were always on call to help. I could go on, but to summarise I would recommend the willow tree to anyone looking for a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting through to a bigger event such as a birthday or wedding. The beautiful garden, wonderful decor and delicious food make it a venue not to miss.

Really nice place to eat with quirky interiors. Food is really nice and cocktails are really good. Service can be a bit slow at times but just relax and enjoy.

Our shared starter arrived missing some of the main ingredients. There was one substitution but we weren’t told what it was. The lasagne did not appear to have pasta in it and the cheese was overpoweringly strong. The special, which was crispy beef salad, arrived more like a stir fry and was too spicy - it had been advertised as coming with radish, fennel and leaves - though it came with a sticky sauce which I wasn’t expecting. The wine was good. Service was slow. We were offered the dessert menu but that never materialised, and not all the tables were full so I guess it wasn’t super busy. Considering it has a Michelin Bib we expected more, and left quite disappointed.

Beautiful and friendly place to eat with fine dining. One thing though which was poor practice in such a high class restaurant, please do not polish the cutlery and throw it in the trays near to your guests as its noisy and disturbs the lovely tranquil and enjoyable ambience. This really should be done in the kitchen or another room. The food and service was first class. A fantastic choice on the menus. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommended. A gem.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Freya served us and she was so lovely and accommodating. She was very understanding of a nut allergy and her service was brilliant. We had two glasses of wine with our dessert which came out a little bit late and they deducted the price off our final bill. Lovely staff and lovely food, highly recommend!

We ate their in the first week of Steven Saunders joining as chef. The whole meal was exceptional, and the fillet steak was the best I've ever eaten. No doubt the Willow Tree has been elevated to premium dining. I would expect people to come from far and wide for Steven's food, and the lovely boutique feel in the restaurant. We'll be rushing back at every opportunity.

I booked a Dome at the Willow Tree for my mums birthday last night, and we all had such a lovely time. Everything looked so beautiful, and we had a lovely, helpful waitress- Freya! She brought all the food out together (there was 7 of us) so none of us had to wait and checked in on us all night! I would definitely recommend the willow tree, the food was amazing and had great service!

We took some friends here for dinner and had a wonderful evening. One of our guests has limited mobility and we had let the Willow Tree know and they had placed us to minimise walking. We ate in one of the domes, which are beautiful and we were comfortably warm on an early December evening. The staff were very friendly and the covid precautions thorough and reassuring without being obtrusive. We felt very safe and well looked after. The food was all excellent and very reasonably priced, and well able to justify a visit on its own, without the beautiful setting and excellent service. We will definitely return.
