Went for lunch. The waitress kept forgetting parts of the order. The meat dishes were dry and over cooked. The butternut squash risotto looked and tasted more like boiled rice with very little butternut squash. The portions were small and gourmet restaurant like but the quality was not.

No atmosphere, some staff seemed under trained and overwhelmed. Waited about 20 minutes to order a glass of wine and the place was 1/2 empty, thank goodness the place wasn't packed. Only good point was the village is pretty and one younger member of staff was quite good. Should have listened to locals and stayed away

Really lovely pub with very friendly staff. Its only 5 or 6 minuets walk to Winston Churchills grave. Having had a couple of drinks the lady behind the bar said we were very welcome to leave the car in the car park and walk up to the church. We will defiantly be going back.

We stopped by for lunch today and had the best burger we have had for a long time, really nicely presented and the service was quick and friendly. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. It was made a bit more special as just when our food arrived the music that was playing was our first dance at our wedding. Thank you for lovely lunch
