The central functions are up and running. Efficient, friendly welcoming and professional staff. A great wave for surfers of all abilities together with surf coaches for beginners and those with some experience. There is a beautifully laid out shop displaying sports and casual wear, and a small but adequate food and drinks menu. Contrary to previous reports, hot showers are in place. It's a great venue for surfers and spectators alike. My son and I loved our couple of hours spent there.

After a great visit today I wanted to leave a review for the team at the wave. In particular Ryan, Charlie, and George. My son aged 11 with cerebral palsy attended today for a lesson. The staff were friendly, welcoming and really attentive. Ryan, Charlie and George personally assisted in the water and were so helpful. He had a wonderful time, thank you so much for the support you offered. He has an amazing experience thanks to your help.

Really impressive facility, great for the whole family, have surfed both intermediate and advanced, had loads of waves and lots of fun. With an ongoing shoulder impingement this had been a good training ground for fitness too. Teething issues must be expected on such groundbreaking and new technology, and The Wave have been very honest about them. Looking forward to summer.

I have visited and surfed the lake about 20 times now and yep I love it. The team have created a really wonderful place with a great vibe and fun waves. The wave is bigger and more powerful than it looks but I sincerely hope they turn up the advanced wave or introduce an expert setting soon though......5 stars if they do.

This place is awsome! Really nice cafe, warm showers after a surf and good changing facilities. In terms of the wave it self. Its well fun, with some nice punchy sections too. Just an all round amazing place! Perfect for practice! Only down note is the car park and pot holes! But all in all 10/10

most importantly, the surfing was good. i took the beginner course with coaches, they were helpful and friendly. the water was warm and clean, lovely stuff. that's all 4 star sadly, the facilities were lacking. many changing cubicles were broken and the door couldn't be locked. most of the free lockers had been broken apart to get in, or mistakenly locked and therefore unusable. the showers were colder than the water for surfing in. there was minimal signage, so felt lost quite often. during the lesson on how to stand on the board and where to surf in "the bay", a picture board with a bird's eye view would've been immensely helpful. and something to help people know their location in the water would be awesome, something like bunting above the surfing areas to distinguish the different sections of the surf area. that's all 2 star. hence, in total, 3 star.

Visited yesterday for the first time with my son for the intermediate session. Great experience and well run by the enthusiastic staff who are a credit to the centre. Downside - Look it's a great exercise walking but a heads up, the car park is a good 10/15 minute walk to the centre so when carrying your surf board and wetsuit along with some water be prepared in the heat. The comments from my son as we walked past green field after green field 'Why did they put the car park so far away' ;-) The return visitors sailed past us on their skateboards and scooters. Will certainly book again but now you can prepare accordingly.

Wow, spent a very nice two hours here as a coffee and cake eating spectator. Worth every penny, a great bargain. We are definitely going to book a beginners surf session, as that also looks worth the money. Well done Team Wave 🌊 you inspired us to do more than spectate ♥

Great place for guaranteed, reliable waves to learn and/or practice on. Surfers are guided into the water in supervised groups according to time slot and wave type. Paddle out, queue/float for your wave, take your turn, paddle back to the end of the queue, repeat for reliable wave after reliable wave. Nice cafe and seating for spectators. Play area for younger children. Good shower, toilet and changing facilities. Quite a walk from the car park (you can skateboard in to save time).

Great vibes and a overall good experience. The waves are definitely worth the trip. My criticism is the sessions are too crowded. The Waikiki session should have had 10 to 15 less people in (many of whom couldn't surf). Encourage people to join the beginner sessions and reduce your numbers per session and people will enjoy it more.
