The studio classes used to be good but it’s so run down now and dirty. Air conditioning that doesn’t work so you are going into hot and dirty rooms. The timetable is now almost nothing now especially for one of the most expensive gyms in Basingstoke. They are many better run and cleaner gyms to pick from.

4/ 5

Attended on 7th December for a Hen Party, spa packages were booked in advance, with lunch and treatment included. On arrival all was lovely staff were very welcoming and friendly and took our lunch orders, provided us with robes etc and gave us a tour of the facilities. We were also given a voucher for a free glass of pink fizz, unexpected but very nice! Lunch time came and we all sat down to a lovely 3 courses - we all took our vouchers to redeem for our fizz but were never asked if we would like it with the meal and when the waiting staff were questioned about how to redeem the voucher they were not sure what to do. We returned to the pool area with our vouchers and after some discussion decided to try and get the drinks served to the pool area. We were happy to have plastic cups/glasses so went along to order. On ordering the 10 glasses of fizz we were informed that there was not enough pink fizz in stock and would we accept prosecco instead. We happily agreed and the barman went to retrieve one bottle of the two that were available from the back of the bar area. As there were no plastic glasses available we agreed to having paper cups, and he diligently poured the one bottle of prosecco into the 10 paper cups - some having around 1cm in the bottom, others around 3cm. Happy with his work he then proceeded to try and charge us £65 for the 10 uneven cups of prosecco. We hastily pointed out that we had given him vouchers for this and made our way back to our party to try and divi up the spoils!! I am not complaining about the cups or the error in trying to charge us (although £65 for a bottle of prosecco does seem a bit steep!). My only complaint is that if it is the norm to offer a free drink with a spa package (that had been booked a couple of months in advance) then maybe some communication should be made with the bar to ensure that ample supplies are available and maybe also some training for the bar staff in how to give correct measures! One bottle would normally serve 5-6 people!! If I had been paying £6.50 per glass/cup I would have wanted more than the 1cm I got!! The spa treatments themselves were wonderful and the therapists lovely and could not be faulted - we all left feeling relaxed and refreshed and able to laugh about our fizz in the end. Just a little something to keep in mind for the next time is to take our own 'glassware'!!
