Lovely hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. Beautiful views from the top. Our room is spacious and very comfortable. Bagpipe music being played from the shop below on loop. Restaurant food passable but look elsewhere for flavor.

This was the best hotel stop on our honeymoon! Right in the middle of plenty tourist attractions, EXTREMELY attentive and accommodating staff, and a block away from the Hop-on-Hop-off system (Highly recommended for a great tour of Edinburgh). The restaurant food and cocktails are a bit pricey but TOTALLY worth it. Even if you don't stay here, check out the Grand Cafe!!! 5/5 EASY!

We had a lovely afternoon tea for two with a small cup of soup included. Charged for extra cup of coffee. Only downside was our chairs seemed low, we could hardly see one another when the three tiered stand was placed on table. Piano music is played on the balcony on a Saturday. Maybe a bit loud where we were sitting but that depends on music played. Nice atmosphere. Got very busy around 2.00pm. Negative point: Ladies toilet cubicles were very small.

This hotel will always have a place in my heart. Had a great stay in 2018, but 2021 was next level. The staff were so lovely and kind as we had to isolate until our Day 2 tests in the wake of Omicron. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, and the location is great for exploring Old Town & New Town. Will be my go-to hotel for all arrivals in to Edinburgh.

A little difficult to find and get into but we had a lovely stay! Amazing location to eat & shop and walk to the castle. Also right next to the train station. Breakfast was also delicious at the hotel!

We arrived late on Friday evening and in clear distress as we thought we had already booked a room at a different hotel. We were greeted by Allan, an amazingly friendly gentleman who helped us and went above and beyond to do so. He was incredibly understanding and helpful towards us. He was by far one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in the hospitality industry. The rooms were immaculate, very spacious and had incredible views to match. The facilities were top class and it has a beautiful cafe/bar and an awesome private cinema. I highly recommend The Scotsman and will definitely be staying there again on my return trips to Edinburgh
