Finally a cinema experience worth going for. Old school. The films are the same as the multiplex but without your feet sticking to the floor. Enjoy a bottle of wine... or share it. Choose a settee for two and cuddle up. Just like being at home without the kids! My original 5 star review from 3 years ago still stands, except they now take credit cards, hence my update.

You couldn't find a more comfortable seat from which to view the screen. A cup of tea is at a reasonable price and the Ladies is spotless. The lavatory seats could do with securing! The one I sat on gave me a start as it swivelled on contact!

A special day with my daughter was enhanced by going to this wonderful cinema. The staff are lovely and rightly proud of the cinema. Very comfortable and I noticed good access for wheelchairs. Wonderful experience. The fish restaurant next door I can recommend too.

We love this local family-owned cinema, with its plush, comfortable seats and good atmosphere. If a film is on, we try to see it here; you can usually park nearby (or get the 22!), and they serve coffee, wine, and little snacks.

The most beautiful and kind staffed cinema I've been to ever so far. My boyfriend and I went to see It's a Wonderful Life as he wanted me to watch for many years now. And I couldn't ask for better place to see it for the first time. We got the sofa seat and it basically felt like a private lounge. The staff were also very nice and kind, they put away my luggage and brought us popcorn to our seats. A plus is the art deco style as both me and my partner are big fans of this style it was the cherry on top of our experience. Definitely will be coming back again! And would recommend to anyone to visit instead of going to big commercial cinemas. Cause this was a full experience for a comparable, and I would say cheaper, price than other regular cinemas.

I love the Savoy, especially now it's an independent cinema. The staff have the community at their heart and it shows in their friendliness and sense of humour. Would highly recommend it.

Returned to the Savoy last night for the first time in 18 months. Really great to be back in this wonderful cinema. Felt really safe watching a superb film (Summer of Soul). Found this cinema about 4 years ago having not been to the cinema for well over 20 years and now am a 'fairly' regular. Great seats with so much leg room, good bar with small tables at every seat to house your drinks. Just a superb experience.
