At Rodney Hotel, Room No 3. Its 12:30AM. Can't sleep because the room has no soundproofing. The room itself is in the bowels of the hotel above the reception. Every door closing and opening, next door's conversation and TV, can be heard. Not sure if I will get any sleep tonight! Not staying here again!

Three stars for the customer service. The manager is a lovely and professional Italian lady and the receptionist, Francesca helped me a lot. The hotel is in the city centre. Quite difficult get a parking space. The manager reserved a place for me but is not the normal policy so be aware of that. The windows in all the rooms are very old and not sealed properly so quite windy and cold in winter. On the other side the heating is good and you can take it on all night. Mattresses are not a good quality particularly if you are heavy like me. The manager professionally apologise but i didn't sleep properly for 2 nights.

The Good: The staff was friendly at check in The view from my room was amazing They give you free fruit which I loved Close to Zoo and the Bridge WiFi is good The Bad: The hotel is 20 minute walk to closest bus going to the airport Stain in carpet Wall paint chipping Computers broke down at check in which made it lengthy. Time to upgrade your think pads from 1997 Skimpy on bar soap.. why, idk? I just like a clean bar to wash my hands LOTS of dirt and crumbs under bed. Definitely needs a cleaning. Don't drop your phone like I did, yuck!

Great location and parking on site available available, the area is really nice and it’s only a short walk to lots of cafes/bars/restaurants. The room was well appointed and very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff we met were very professional and pleasant. Enjoyed a breakfast which was perfectly cooked and very well presented. Hotel is within building of classic architectural design. The en-suite bathroom in our room would benefit from refurbishment but it had everything we needed and it was spotlessly clean, a credit to the housekeeping team. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if visiting the Clifton area. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay very pleasant.

A big question mark, really !? Steaks were good, tender, slightly over-priced. Not sure how they were cooked. No taste of grill or juices. Payment devices/system in massive need of overhaul and updating. Never waited so long to part with money before. Service was good but will not be revising. Atmosphere a little staid. Sorry.

What a delight to be staying in an independent hotel and not a chain. Some very thoughtful touches: a caffetier and ground coffee and bowl of fruit in the room. Freshly cooked breakfast. Very warm welcome. I managed to get a parking space but there aren't many so get there early. Highly recommended.

Adequate room, rather cramped for £85 though. Bathroom was nice with age related wear and tare. First come first served parking due to few spaces at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was nice. In good walking distance to local bars and shops.
