Often popped in but first time with the new management. Made welcome, and the food was great. It's little touches that matter, I had bangers and mash and you could taste the butter in the mash, will be going back soon.

A good pint of London Pride...busy pub but with a focus on food. The landlord is new and more friendly and welcoming than some of his predecessors. Probably worth a return visit.

Visited today with family and friends. Very warm welcome from the landlord who has only been in position for 4 weeks. Made very welcome and food was excellent. Should be highly recommended for its food as the Hunter Chicken i had was one of the best I've ever had. Will be back again for sure.

Been having Sunday lunch here for years. Thought we'd try out "New Management". The beef dinner was as good as always. TIP - I ordered 'Pigs in Blankets' as an extra. Three were supplied which were probably 4 hours old, hard and dry. They charge £2.95 for this. Don't bother. Otherwise all ok - hence 4 stars.

The Sunday lunch I had today was fantastic! The meat was cooked perfectly as was the veg, which included tender stem brocolli and red cabbage, very tasty indeed. I'll be back, it was excellent value for money.

Today two friends and I went for Sunday lunch at The Red Lion, they had previously been there and recommended it. I have to say I have to agree with them. I am vegetarian and the whole meal was hot and delicious. The food and service were second to none, so grateful thanks to Peter, the chef and staff for giving us such a brilliant experience that we will be repeating very soon.

I don't usually leave reviews but want to on this occasion because of how great this place was. I called in advance to book a table and staff were so helpful and friendly over the phone, accommodating my diet requirements and helping me arrange my food order in advance due to the fact I'd be arriving late to order. When we arrived the staff were so welcoming. I had the vegan homemade spinach and chickpea curry which was also really really nice. The chips were the nicest I've had in a pub, and being vegan I've had a lot of chips! I look forward to coming again.
