Shockingly bad

1.0/ 5

Having been a member of this surgery for 30 years I can honestly say it is in a shocking state. With the staff admitting this too. Near enough impossible to get an appointment under Any circumstances. Ring at 8 as advised, no appointments left. Go online, penylan surgery is not taking registration online, ring for a future appointment and you are looking at 6 weeks!! Oh not to mention standing outside in the freezing cold at 7.30am to then pote tially be sitting in the surgery for a further 4 hours if you are one of the lucky ones. The surgery is dirty, the receptionists are rude and unfriendly.. Arefelction of the complete state our NHS is in today.

Unfortunately im french, black, asthmatic. Unfortunately a racist was in the reception. Unfortunately she didn't take the time to explain me anything. As animal i was just kicked out and send somewhere else where my colour will be maybe more acceptable. Thanks to the lady who take the time to talk with me by phone and apologise.

To be offered a same day appointment service by any GP surgery in today's climate of unmanageable patient expectations and a dwindling primary care workforce is an achievement. GPs compassionate, clinically sound and make you feel at ease. Receptionists welcoming and smile.

I agree totally with recent review by Sue Bartlett. This surgery has changed beyond all recognition (for the worse). After 50 years registered here, I have had to throw in the towel and go elsewhere. It is very sad as it used to be such a good surgery with helpful receptionists. The walk in and wait clinic resembles A&E on a bad day. Often patients standing leaning against walls as seats are full. Bad environment for germs etc. Queuing outside in all weathers to wait sometimes 2 hours to see a GP, rarely of your choice. No continuity. Only one original GP left, and to get an appointment with him is average of 4 to 6 week wait. If you dare to complain, no one seems to care. Receptionists chatting away amongst themselves in full hearing of patients, unwilling to help, go the extra mile to assist. What a shame.

The doctors are excellent..its getting past the receptionists who think they are doctors that is the hard bit usually, the exception being today when the receptionist was obliging..so thanks for that. Seen Dr E Williams who was excellent.

Hi, my partner had a problem with his ear today , called in the surgery and a wonderful young chap with dark hair came out, smiled and with a ‘can do’ attitude said no problem he would help, following this my partner saw Dr Dix? Who was young , helpful and amazing and solved the problem! This experience of great service is so unusual these days we just want to say a big thank you’

Made me wait 20 minutes and got told that the phlebotomist had already left. The receptionist treated us very poorly. This is the third time I have come in to get my blood tested. I am unhappy and disappointed!!!

On behalf of my 87 year old Dad I can only agree with the negative experiences shared by others about this surgery and this isn't due to the covid crisis. Rude and abrupt receptionists, promises of call backs by doctors that never happen, mis placed documents, incorrect diagnosis that led to my Dad being rushed into A&E, I could go on. Definitely not what it used to be and worst of all the surgery doesn't seem to care.
