We stayed here for one night and were upgraded to a family room as we had two dogs with us. The room was quite spacious with an elegant double bed, a 2-level poster bed, the usual niceties (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner), and a large bathroom. The pub itself is nice and spacious, with a varied menu. We especially loved the warmth and hospitality of Carly and staff!! We were also lucky to find ourselves in the midst of a quiz organised by a local group, which we enjoyed thoroughly!!!

Truly the very best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Large portions and the chips are WONDERFUL. All the other meals on the menu I have tasted are equally wonderful and you should try the Steak and Mushcoom Pie. It is to die for - as is the gravy you get with it. Not only that, but the service is about the best I have ever experienced - quick, cheerful and very welcoming, understanding and no request is too much trouble. The atmosphere is always very good, light and friendly and so popular is this place that you'd be advised to book a table just in order to get in. Best place I have been to for food in many years. You should try it.

The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The bowl of chips we had, after the kitchen had closed, were the best I've had for a long time, beautifully seasoned. The family room was huge, as was the ensuite which was complete with bath and shower. The mattress on the double bed was lovely and firm which gave a fabulous night's sleep. It's a shame we arrived in the dark as it didn't give us the opportunity to truly appreciate this beautiful little gem.
