My wife and I had a lovely stay in the 'Back Cabin' at The Old Brush last week. Rustic but very comfortable accomodations, nice hosts and a beautiful setting. Wonderful to see the birds and wildlife and to enjoy the serenity and bushwalks. We will definitely stay again.

The Old Brush is a little piece of heaven on earth. It's the perfect place to de stress and get back in touch with nature. There are plenty of spectacular walking trails. The accommodation is cosy, comfortable and eclectic. It's very accessible to/from Newcastle, Sydney and the Hunter Valley. I look forward to returning very soon.

The most amazing place to unwind, kick back, relax and enjoy re connecting with your loved one at a very chilled pace. Wine & nibbles on the verandah by the Billabong or meandering hand in hand around the vast property. Delights of nature await everywhere. King Parrots, Wonga Pigeons, water Hens, the odd Brush Turkey, Honey Eaters, Beautiful Brown Pigeons, Bronze Wing Pigeons, to name just a few of the amazing visitors. The bathroom has a great shower, lots of pressure and hot water. There is an outside bore shower, the water is soooo cold and so refreshing in the hot weather. We indulged ourselves a fair bit under that gem. The cottage is cozy and well appointed. Very private we felt like we the only people for miles - loved it so much. It is romantic and feels such a special place to be. We can not wait to stay in winter.....lots of wood stacked on the verandah to use in the fireplaces. On verandah and one inside. Sipping port on verandah by the fire wrapped up in blankets together.. BBQ for eats, hmmmm bliss.. Come on winter I say! We were welcomed on arrival by Gail, the owner. Such a relaxed, personable and interesting gal .We felt instantly relaxed and very welcomed. The resident hunk of spunk- Archie the collie dog, stole our hearts and kept us company. We encouraged this and enjoyed his company so much. Some relatives visited us for the day and we enjoyed a long relaxed picnic. Just perfect. The cabin was clean, well appointed and comfortable - a lot of love lives in that cabin - we could feel it. The grounds are beautiful, and meticulously kept without losing that natural feel. We will return at evert opportunity..... Thank you Gail, Robert and Archie Boy. You made our stay one to remember XXX Love & Blessing Carrol-Lyn & Beresford

We've been coming to this quiet magical place for years. Gail & Robert are so generous to share their piece of paradise with the public. It is the perfect place for family get togethers and picnics with plenty of tables, seating, bbqs and firewood ready to go. Not to mention the abundant bird life and kangaroos.

My husband and I just had the most amazing stay. We stayed in the studio cabin which is beautifully rustic. From the moment you arrive, you can feel any stress melt away. Gail and Robert are wonderful hosts who make you feel so welcome. There is also a dog Archie who is so friendly and spent time just chilling with us on our little deck overlooking the billabong. There is wildlife everywhere and amazing walks that we didn't get a chance to do. Our one regret is only staying the one night. We are already planning to stay again in the near future for a few days. Anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and looking to unwind needs to stay here. 10/10.

Our favourite for many years now when wanting to get away. Lovely rustic cabins on a beautiful property. Incredible variety of wildlife and flora which can be seen right outside the cabins. There are also a few very well marked beautiful hikes from easy to more challenging which go through very varied forest types. As soon as we get there the whole family somehow calms down. Gail and Robert are extremely friendly and a wealth of information. A little slice of paradise!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Studio Cabin and had the most wonderful weekend. The cabin is incredibly cosy and rustic. Situated right on the water, we were able to watch the wildlife whilst keeping warm in front of the outdoor fire. The surrounding area is gorgeous and we loved exploring the property. A perfect stay and we can't wait to return.
