I've found lots of major problems with this doctors surgery. I joined two months ago, when I moved to this area. Cons ~ - Not enough staff on reception for the amount of patients that the surgery has. - Rude reception staff - Changed opening/ closing hours. I originally signed up here because it had certain days where it closed at 8pm, making it perfect for 9-5 professionals. They recently changed their hours to be normal GP hours. Depressing. - Not enough doctors for the influx of patients, average wait of a month for a routine non-emergency doctors appointment. - You need to call at 8am for an emergency appointment - only that it doesn't work. You'll either not get through, wait 45mins for them to then tell you there's no spaces, or be randomly hung up on. - If you do eventually get an appointment, you'll most likely be called into the room 20-30 mins late. - Not particularly close to any bus stops, uphill from the closest one making it almost impossible for wheelchair users. - Not enough patient car parking spaces yet a very empty doctors car park. Coincidence? I think not. Pro's ~ - Shared ambiguous misery with everyone else in the waiting room/ reception queue.

So difficult to get an appointment, especially when you work/care for someone and can't leave at the drop of a hat. 'Jude' on the appointments line confirmed today that from 10th January - 23rd January 2019 it is physically impossible to book an appointment other than in the afternoon on the day, sit and wait. Avoid this doctors surgery at all costs if you care for a member of your family or work *update to awful experience* after finally waiting almost a month for blood tests, my appointment for 15:20 today was due to begin over an hour ago & I am still sat waiting. I was advised by reception the nurse was sat in an empty room and I was next - but the nurse advised this was not the case! Nurse was very lovely however

Visited the surgery on Friday as my husband was very unwell. The receptionist was brilliant, she got him a wheel chair as the doctor he was seeing was upstairs. I had to collect my grand daughter from school who also had an appointment but when I got back to the surgery she had looked after him in the office and even gone the extra mile by getting his prescription from the chemist which meant I only had to take him home when I'd seen the doctor with my grand daughter. She insisted on wheeling him out in the wheel chair to the car and making sure he was ok.... what a gem, I wish I had taken her name, but she is a regular on reception and I can't thank her enough for making an extremely stressful situation bearable.... well done you x

Significantly over registered and even more significantly under staffed. Once you've managed to book an appointment staff are professional, friendly and extremely helpful, but getting an appointment is a herculean task that requires an absolute minimum of 40 minutes on hold in my experience, sometime well over an hour. Invariably, the appointment will be in 4-5 weeks time, also.

Great doctors & support staff Never had any problems, except length if time to get an appointment... until I needed an emergency one then they were on it like you wouldn't believe... unfortunately I then needed to go to the hospital, so it was an emergency...

Don't try making an appointment over the phone. You will be waiting in a que for at least 20 minutes before anyone answers. If you don't give up before. Very poor service taking into account they don't want people coming into the building. Suggest they get more phone lines and staff to answer appointment calls under the circumstances.

Doctors and medical staff are all great, major issue getting an appointment. My view is there are too many patients registered and not enough admin staff or Doctors to cover the volume. Possible to book appointments over the phone, if you are OK to wait 4+ weeks. Phone appointments are a long wait with usual result being told nothing available within 2 weeks. Expect to wait 40mins+ from 8am.

I also think that the volume of patients is too great for the admin staff every time I have rung for either an appointment or test results the length of time before speaking to anyone has varied between 15 and 40 minutes. However once an appointment has been secured treatment is good .
