The Mitre Hotel was just fine. If you are expecting a incredible room, gorgeous views etc you are probably not looking in the right place, but if you don't mind a shower with no thermostat control that drips loudly non-stop, a very hot room due to the exposed water pipes, and a very old and creaky floor, then it'll do. No complaints with this as I wouldn't expect more considering the price. Location is excellent depending on what you're there for; I can imagine it gets pretty loud on Friday/Saturday nights. I would question what makes the 'deluxe' double room any more deluxe from the regular double room.

Very bad experience. I asked for a room that had a private bathroom and they put us in a room that didn't even have a toilet, was in the hallway and usually dirty. It wasn't worth the money.

Excellent value for money. If I had booked direct with them I would have got a free breakfast as well, all for £36. Lovely view of the Cathedral out of my window and Holly the reception lady was very helpful. Would I stay again? Yes.

Absolutely fantastic, last minute booking due to weather stranding us. The staff made us so very welcome that they turned an awful day into a lovely one! Room 1 was amazing, huge comfortable bed, crisp clean bedding, the bathroom was huge with a lovely egg bath and power shower! Holly the receptionist and the lively housekeeper made us feel special. Breakfast was lovely with a hood gluten free option. It was quite loud until early hours but central Manchester 4 weeks before Christmas that is to be expected. I would stay again, thank you!

Room 29: Mattress was dead 20 years ago, no water from hot tap at all. Cold water pressure so low it wouldn’t run the shower unless it was dribbling boiling or freezing. Damaged blinds so was woken early. Dangerous electrics not up to current standards. (I’m an electrician) Very Dirty room. Still waiting for call back from someone since 5th March! They sounded surprised about all these issues on checkout, I’ve got a feeling they just take the money and act dumb. Yes it’s cheap, it certainly isn’t cheerful! 1 star is 5 too many!!! This place should be closed down! NEVER AGAIN!

Friendly staff and a quaint place. Breakfast was very nice and well worth the price, with the discount, if your stopping here. For the price you really can't grumble as your dead centre and only a minute walk from the town. Room was clean and compact. Plenty of hanging space and a TV. My only issue was that the shower was terrible! It needed replacing as the pressure was non existent. I did mention this to the staff after the 1st night and they said it would be looked at, it wasn't unfortunately and it wasn't until the next day I noticed, I was leaving early and getting back late. I mentioned this on check out and they did offer me a free breakfast, I unfortunately had to leave so I couldn't have it. The staff were very apologetic and did offer me something for free. Hence the only loosing 1 star 🌟

Great location in centre of the city. Good choice of rooms some higher spec than others. It's a listed building so some stairs to go up and down, but adds the character. Some renovation on one stairwell was underway on our stay. But it's good to see this to know they are keeping the building updated and to a good standard. Reception is accessible round the back door and up some stairs. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Prices for rooms are good and a nice change from basic Travel lodges. Definitely worth considering if you want to stay over in the city centre. Breakfast was good to and a ample size and good selection. I would recommend it.

We didn't stay in the hotel, we spent the day with friends and had a meal and drinks. The bar staff were all fantastic and friendly. I have to give an extra thank you to Aussie Kate who remembered our drinks after just the first round even though some of my friends changed drinks. Very professional and extremely friendly. Thank you for a fantastic time.
