We had a fantastic celebratory family lunch here. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. They were also really accomodating when one of our party was a little late. The food was fantastic. Classic fish and chips perfectly executed. Chicken Milanese with a truffle cream sauce was delicious but the stars of the meal were the scallop starter and the special of grilled halibut on the bone with a grapefruit sauce. Exceptional! A really enjoyable, memorable meal!

My friend and I visited for afternoon tea yesterday and it was just fabulous! The team were so friendly and helpful, and were able to accommodate my request for a vegan afternoon tea with ease. What was really nice was how the chef had put thought and care in to the vegan option, which was just a wonderful as my friend’s non vegan afternoon tea. I even had vegan clotted cream for my scones (made with coconut!). Really impressed.

Nice inside, but there really was no wow factor about the service or food quality, which is a real shame given how good a location it is, how the interior is, the taking of your coat to a cloakroom etc...just a decent breakfast which you could get in most half-decent restaurants or cafe's. To be fair they will bring a cake or little something for a birthday which is nice, but stripping back to basics, the breakfasts should be leaving you thinking "I haven't had a breakfast that good before".

Booked in for a special holiday breakfast and the experience was very good. Beautiful setting and food was good. Only down side (which was really unexpected at such a high end eatery) was one breakfast came without black pudding and haggis so had to ask. Extras were bought out without question.
