We stopped in to the Hydro Majestic For their high tea. A quick Google of “High tea in the Blue Mountains” and you will see it is a popular offering. The deciding factor for us was the view. You will see in the pics that we had the most amazing view from our table. The Hydro Majestic offers both a traditional Eastern high tea and also a Western version. We opted to have one of both and share and actually took the desserts home as we were so full. Both high teas are $60 or $69 with a sparkling. Highly recommend.

We went for the high tea. The view are unmatched anywhere else. The quality of small bight are amazing, there was a pianist who played beautiful music. Service is fantastic. I gave it 3 stars because they limit your dining time to 90min. It means we got the champagne and the tea together followed by food in 15 min. It just knocks down the height of this beautiful amazing experience. 120 min for dining time limit would have allowed us to enjoy all what they offer in a relaxed manner.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Hydro Majestic. Beautiful room with breathtaking views. The staff were exceptional. Food was fantastic. The heritage of this hotel is the hero of the weekend escape from Sydney. Great history explained by James. We’ll be back.

2/ 5

I was rather surprised given the amount of money we had spent on this vacation for this "ritzy" motel, to find mould in the shower, tacked tiles above the bath and also, being in a highway side room, the fact that the windows were double glazed, meaning that you here every car, truck, bike, train, person walking in the car park. Only the main bar was open, this was also the breakfast room, the reception, everything, meaning that to check in, you had to wait till the people before you got their drinks served. Poor service in this respect.

The Hydro is a destination place, beautifully refurbished around $36 million, I think. It's Art Deco style, the Dining Restaurant overlooks the Valley, with ever-changing views by the minute. The Menu is not large, however it's world standard fair. There's 2 styles of High Tea, English traditional or Asian, both exceptional. You can take a guided tour of the hotel also. Breakfast has a comprehensive menu of buffet. A new wing has been added and a lift. The gift shop worth the time to drop in even if you are passing, with artifacts from its origins. Rooms are not huge, but with ensuites. The staff are meticulous to your needs.
