A disgusting s*** hole!!!!! Doesn't deserve any stars at all!!! Would of rather been on the streets. I had to wait for transport to arrive all the way from Essex to be taken 10 minutes to where I was being moved to (here). The staff member was doing an assessment and fell asleep while talking to me and was snoring really loud. She then did my blood pressure but put the wrap thing around my elbow and wondered why it wasn't working, she didn't know how to use any of the equipment and kept falling asleep. Their toilets that everyone has to share, I kid you not is covered in piss and feces. The rooms look like a prison cell with a bed and a sink (blue button is for hot water and the red for cold, like how does that even make sense?) I told the staff I needed medication to sleep as I hadn't been given anything and my room smells bad, the paint is peeling, the walls are covered in actual s*** stains; they said they would give me medication but made me wait hours and when I asked again, they said I wasn't allowed any as it was too late. I asked a staff member if I could charge my phone in my room as I had a very short cable (which was allowed in st charles' mental health unit) she shouted at me and said I wasn't allowed and I answered back by saying what was the point of having sockets in the rooms? She took my phone off of me (I thought she put it on charge) but found out the next day that she confiscated my phone. I literally decided I'd rather pee in a Costa cup in the corner of my room than pee in their bathroom. I hadn't eaten for two days and asked if I could have a biscuit or something and they said it was my fault I wasn't in my room at lunch time even though I was in a meeting with the doctors. Apperantly they're not allowed to give out wipes, I've been waiting to talk to someone for 4 hours but the staff are legit arguing with each other really loudly in front of everyone "dont talk to me, stay away from me" "I'm sorry but we work with each other, you have to talk to me, how dare you walk away from me" "I said get away from me, I dont want to talk to you" actual staff members arguing. They neglet and swear at patients too. They said my mum wasnt allowed to visit me but my room is in front of the reception and my mum walked into my room, they're so rude and unprofessional, I'm sure prison is way nicer than here.

1/ 5

I visited my friend today, I was barely greeted by a staff member. As soon as I walked into the ward a staff member was arguing shouting at a patient which is appalling behaviour. The staff are employed to look after the patients not retaliate by arguing back. This is highly unprofessional and not the environment anyone with mental health issues should be in. It is evident that the majority of the staff do not care about the patients and it is simply just a job to them. When I approached the reception of the ward I was greeted by a female staff member with ‘yes?’ Not hello or hi or how can I help you, but ‘yes?’ Like I and the patient were an annoyance and something she couldn’t be bothered to deal with. It was disgusting behaviour. In my opinion 90% of the staff should be fired. This whole establishment is corrupt. My friend, the patient , has a video of the receptionist swearing at him and making horrific comments about his mother. He will be submitting this to appropriate authorities. This place needs to be shown to the public for what it really is. There is no care and no system to help the people in there. No therapist, no activities for inpatients. Additionally half of the staff don’t speak very good English. The patients should be surrounded with caring nurses. this place even as a visitor made me feel unheard and insignificant. Disgusting toxic people it disheartens me that our tax money is going into the pockets of these so called nhs nurses. How anyone is supposed to heal in this place is beyond me.
