This is an excellent restaurant with very helpful and friendly staff who took us through the menu which had plenty of choice. The restaurant was clean and tidy and all set in lovely Indian atmosphere. The food was so tasty and cooked to perfection. I would fully recommend this restaurant to all

They had terrible service, my friends and I were screamed at and talked down to. The owner was very decent and helpful but the rest of he staff was extremely rude and even undermined us. One of the staff members was eating and chewing while serving and even cursed under his breath. Food tastes like it has been Microwaved and not tasteful at all. The restaurant shouldn’t be called the eastern eye but the eastern eye-would-rather-eat-anywhere-else.

Winner of a host of prizes, and deservedly so. Visited with two children and my wife on a quiet Monday evening. Saw the restaurant when visiting the town and although innocuous looking from the outside, once you climb the stairs you find yourself in an almost palacial hall (used to be a ballroom). Despite the size and high ceilings it still has a air of intimacy. We were served by a team who were genuinely pleased for our custom, and treated the children as guests in their own right rather than ignoring them (as happens in so many places). Superb service throughout the evening. Food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. A truly memorable evening and we will definitely return. Well done to everyone there! Would give six stars if I could.

Really don’t like leaving poor reviews of local businesses however wife booked a table for 7 Boxing Day 2021 as a celebration for two birthdays. We received email confirmation of the booking. Turned up and senior staff member stated sorry you have no booking, we are closing now. When showed the email he said “no booking that staff member no longer works here”! No apology no explanation. Bearing in mind I’ve been here countless times often with large parties I think you won’t be seeing me, my family or my friends again. The minimum requirement of a decent business is honesty. One star is deserved

The most beautiful find! The room is so gorgeous, hand painted wall murals and a very grand ceiling!

The most beautiful find! The room is so gorgeous, hand painted wall murals and a very grand ceiling! The waiters were so warm and welcoming and the food was delicious, well presented with generous portions. Every dish had a plethora of flavour and the Matka for dessert was honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten. We couldn't believe the price for all the food we had along with a glass of red and a large beer. Will definitely be visiting again!
