The Cowshed bristol

Lovely food. I require Gluten free and a steakhouse does that well. The starters were lovely and the steaks cooked perfectly, I had mine with peppercorn sauce which if done right is lovely and this definitely was done right! It is expensive but in the middle of Clifton and very good quality food I'm not surprised. The staff were also great too. I wish I could remember our servers name she was lovely.

Such a good meal!!! The steaks were cooked well, and not too fatty. A waitress explained the cuts to us very helpfully. I enjoyed the scallops to start. One was a bit sandy but the other two were on point. Thanks for the good hospitality.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service but disappointed with main course choice of Risotto. Tasteless apart from a couple of pieces of beetroot and a dollop of goats cheese in the middle. Starter of Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper Soup was very tasty and dessert of Chocolate and Salted Caramel Pot was plainly served in a miniature 'stainless steel' saucepan, but tasted delicious. Coffee could have been stronger and hotter, but that's a personal choice.

Pretty poor experience. Ordered rump steak and chunky beef cut potatoes. Request the steak medium rare. On arrival I found the steak to be more medium to well done. Also pretty much all the potatoes were rock hard, these were not eaten . Unable to report this for 10 minutes as no staff around. When the finally came over to ask how the food was it was really too late. I didn't wish to eat separately to my partner. The server agreed the steak was not as requested and apologized for the potatoes and was told me he would speak to the Manager. He came back to say the deserts would be free and the drinks removed from the bill. Deserts ordered and these were fine but on receipt of the bill only £2 each removed as a 'good will gesture'. I've eaten here many time before and it's been good but this was sadly a very poor experience.

We went for the early bird deal, it was quite good since the restaurant was relatively quiet (it's usually very busy!) Good deal for rump steak, chips and wine. The steak was cook as ordered, it just felt a bit chewy.

Love the ambience here. Great food too!

The waiter was wearing high heel’s and spoke to us like he had a nasty smell under his nose .

Went for a large group Xmas dinner. I was impressed with the quality and speed of service, everyone got their dinners within minutes of each other. The food was good, I can highly recommend the duck starter and chocolate orange gateau. Couple of very minor aspects which could have been improved upon but seemed just a genuine mistake which was rectified quickly and those affected were satisfied with the outcome and staff were apologetic. All round, cowshed has some delicious food and again had an experience that will keep me coming back for more. Thanks for accommodating our party.

The food is constantly fresh and yummy, staff members hands out good service. I love the cleanliness and vibes. Would recommend to others.

Nice look and feel to the place. My steak was cold vegetables were nice I had the green beans. Only half the table asked what they would like to drink so two stars as the food didn't reflect the look and feel of the place expected much more
