We stayed for a week in one of the lodges. The lodges are great, well positioned, not to enclosed, internally they were laid out with bedrooms on the ground floor and living area on the first floor. Eight of us stayed, and there was plenty of room. Ideally we would have booked one with a hot tub however there were none available unfortunately. Having said that, those that did have a hot tub are not particularly private. Overall the facilities are great we used the spa, the swim pool and the gym, all of which were extremely clean and well-managed. A nice touch was there were a couple of goals on the green in front of the hotel which the boys enjoyed. A couple of observations which I felt let hotel down a little. Firstly the bar tea room area was really lacking in atmosphere. We had a meal at the hotel and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. The menu is very limited and is very expensive. Comparing the items with similar establishments locally, it was significantly more expensive and the quality was extremely poor. This is a nice hotel with a good clientele, I really believe that investment in both the decor and feel of the bar tea room and restaurant as well as investment in a good quality chef would add to the experience. I would score the lodges 4 and the restaurant and food 1

Stayed in one of their very spacious lodges. I was so completely amazed at how lovely the lodge was, particularly the upstairs open plan kitchen/ diner/ living room. I have a 6 month old baby and everything was so baby friendly. The staff were extremely helpful. We enjoyed the spa treatments we had and the pool was a decent size and a relaxing atmosphere. We ate in their restaurant for dinner and had afternoon tea there one day and both meals were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back! Just wish it was a little nearer!

2/ 5

Spa use only, hotel and grounds looked great but not reviewing them here. To offer "day spa" breaks anywhere there are a few things you expect. Enough space to sit down/recline, if children are allowed they should be of an age they can behave, quiet and maybe a little spa music playing. This place failed on all of these fronts. Great front of house team and first impressions, but upon entry we were hit with extreme temperatures (incredibly uncomfortably hot) and there was only 2 loungers and 3 other seats available to share between (when we entered) 20 people. This is ridiculous. 5 kids under the age of 5 or 6 all screaming and diving into the (no-diving pool) with no life guard or staff visiting at any point during the two hours we were on the premise. The steam room had a hole in the roof and paint peeling across its entirety (breath that in, delightful... ) The sauna was small and in use constantly so didn't see the inside. Two rainfall showers did the job but not temperature controlled. Pool was cool, good for swimming but at 15m in length with a couple of lane guides in it was hard to swim properly because of how busy it was/how many kids were misusing it. Small adjoining bubble area is designed to be cold, and the one jet per seat was underwhelming. The gardens were stunning and enclosed but limited seating and zero shade at all. Treatments were very good, and to be recommended. Would have given them 4/5 stars for treatments alone. With a bit of work this has the bones of a tremendous spa but at present this is a kids friendly hotel pool at best.

Very luxurious spa facility. Individual treatment rooms with shared relaxation room. Infinity pool with joined spa pool and sauna, steam room adjacent. Could do with more seating around the pool. Afternoon tea was very decadent although the vegan option could be more adventurous

Came for one of the “Lazy Sunday” packages with my partner. All of the staff were lovely that we spoke to, food was delicious and treatment was amazing. Really want to take a moment to say a special thank you to Craig in the restaurant who made us laugh and gave amazing service. Thank you very much!
