The Bull at Foolow – Peak District

Lovely little pub & restaurant. Only called for a quick pint. Covid friendly. Sanitising station outside, track and trace information taken. Social distancing pointers. Real open fire. Staff seem lovely. And top it off serve my favourite Staropramen! 😍

Very nice food, lovely relaxing place with friendly welcoming staff. Sorry but coffee not so good! But still 5 stars. A great place to visit to support local businesses.

We're stopping in a small holiday cottage in Foolow. We went to Chatsworth house for a stroll where I proposed to my partner, got back to Foolow and took our dog for a long walk, popped into the bulls head for a gin and a pint (or 2!) after our walk at 3pm, our greeting was very warm and friendly with a treat for our dog. We went back for an evening meal to celebrate our engagement where we once again had a warm a friendly welcome. Our food was fantastic, the pub/restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is very covid secure which all in all made our day!. If we come back to the area (I hope we do) we will definitely revisit. Staff were friendly. Felt safe. At first I thought the prices were high. I had 'pie of the day', beef and stiton pie. I like a proper pie ,pastry on the top sides and bottom. This was just flaky pastry on the top. Well...well worth the money. Very tasty as was the flaky pastry! Presentation of the meal and dessert was pleasing to the eye and tantalising on the taste buds.

Located in the stunning countryside we enjoyed a warm, welcoming, atmospheric meal that was absolutely fantastic. Great service, locally sourced beef with a tasty ale to wash it all down, we couldn't of asked for a better start to our little break away. Would recommend to all.

Fantastic place, called on the off chance after our first lunch place wasn't suitable. This pub was heaven sent, the staff were so friendly and the food first class. It was Christmas Eve so we weren't even sure we would get a sandwich let alone a superb meal. I would definitely recommend especially for the lovely staff.

Another lovely meal at The Bull. Four of us had the pork roast. Excellent crispy crackling. I'd also recommend the ginger sponge. The service is always excellent here. Also the pub is dog friendly.

A MUST VISIT! The food is just delicious. We had ham hock and black pudding terrine and pork cheek as starters, then wild mushroom risotto and the rib eye steak for mains, it was all lovely and good portions too. The pies coming out of the kitchen looked amazing ...next time! The atmosphere is very relaxed and I think this is down to the wonderful team they have, very attentive and friendly, thank you Nicky and all. We are local to Foolow so we'll be back soon!

Delicious food served by really attentive and friendly staff. A real old school welcoming pub with live acoustic music on a Friday. Lamb shank and steak were both perfect. Great portions and good value. Nice walks nearby, can't fault it

We went here on a recommendation and certainly were not disappointed! The landlady was very welcoming and her staff friendly and knowledgeable. The food and service both excellent! Whether you are just calling in for a drink or a meal, you won't be disappointed! I recommend you book a table to avoid disappointment!
