From the moment I walked into this hotel, I felt robbed. The place is a mess. There’s was clutter everywhere behind the desk. The keys are on huge key rings, so there’s no way of carrying them around without them sticking out. For £120, I wouldn’t expect to feel like I’m staying in a hostel, but that’s what I’ve got. The room is dirty. Clearly hasn’t been cleaned. There is even old snobs/spit on the wall that’s stomach turningly brown, the cushions are DIRTY and to top it off, even though it doesn’t state it online, they insisted that they take my card details just in case I loose the MASSIVE key!! Thoroughly disappointed and I don’t even want to stay the night. STAY AWAY.

Overpriced for what you get. I ordered food at night to take to my room. Took ages. Also had paprika over the chicken, when it made no mention of it. I also checked it wad just plain grilled chicken prior to ordering. I am severely allergic to paprika. Compact room and quite noisy as bar is downstairs. Stayed one night. Won't go back.

The hotel is in an excellent position, very close to the train station and shopping areas, restaurants etc. It is very clearly undergoing upgrading and the room we were in was spotless and bed was very comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The down sides - the bar next door playing very loud music till midnight midweek. We were offered earplugs.( I wonder if the rest of the rooms were the same?) Travelling and booking with a 9yo child I would have thought a quiet room would have been a given? We also did not have a view at all..noisy extactor pipes from elsewhere in the building, see photos..the room was also very stuffy and the fan provided much needed air.. the windows do open but the pigeon mess and noise made it nearly impossible to keep them open. On booking out the receptionist said we should have been offered another room. In short ok for a couple of nights but not ideal if you need an early night. We didn't eat next door you do get a 10%discount in the bar. Breakfast is not included.

This hotel is being updated, so you need to bare with it. We had an old room, so there were a few things needed seen to. But the room was clean, comfortable and the bed comfy, so what we needed for couple nights. The lady who worked on reception during the day on the wednesday and afternoon of Thursday was exceptionally helpful. She was concerned about my comfort in the room with my disability and offered to change us if we needed to. But we were fine. She also recommended places to eat etc, which was very helpful. Hold on to her, she is an assett to you.

Stayed here for 2 nights in December and everything was absolutely spot on. I booked through a third party website as I got the genius discount so worked out as less that £35 a night. Stayed here on my own, room had a double bed, shower, bath, decent TV, kettle, iron and hair dryer. Everything you need. You will not find a better budget hotel than this. Located right in the centre of Merchant City everything is minutes away including bars, restaurants and shops.

Affordable, great location, very clean, friendly manager.. all we needed for a city break. It’s surrounded by good restaurants and bars (including the gay bars we were after) and a good breakfast cafe. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on and we were supplied with amble fresh towels.
