Free to enter but there is considerable pressure to make a donation. There are free maps with basic information to help you find your way round if buying the big colour guide is not your thing. There is a free app with some great information about exhibits. Weekends and school holidays the ford room is a dedicated space for families to eat a picnic and take some time out. A great place to visit. Some exhibit do require a paid ticket.

I love this museum. It is a must on your visit to London. You will see an incredible building from the outside, but as you walk inside is even more impressive. If u are lucky and is Sunday is even better. After the first impression of that incredible building you have plenty of rooms completely full of amazing things from all around the world. I highly recommend to visit. But it is a really busy place. So if you go early you will enjoy the museum even more. Especially the Egypt area because is one of the busiest part of the museum.

Simply the world’s best in terms of artifacts, history lessons, and collections of books. It’s free, safe, orderly, and the security is helpful and friendly. Additionally, the gift shop has an array of wonderful choices that are fairly priced. Lastly, there are various kinds of foods available that are also fairly priced. I have been every time I’ve gone to London (6 times over the last 10 years), and I never tire of it. The Rosetta Stone is worth seeing all by itself.

One of the must visits while you are in London. I thought of spending around 1 hour at the Museum and finally was in for 4 hours. The Museum clearly shows the human history across the globe and evolution of human race. It was really a great experience to view the history of many cultures - Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Indian etc. I was fascinated with the collection and information they have. Quite amazing. Do not miss BM if you are in London. The entry is free and if you feel like donating, there are options kept.

One of the most stunning collections of antiquities in the world. The statues are awe inspiring. The exhibits are well organized with information that links the artifacts. I couldn't take it all in in one visit...just did the ancient history this time. The stories of the archaeologists are almost as interesting as the context for the objects. The Enlightenment galleries were huge libraries of books and ancient objects. Wow. For the tourist as well as a serious student of history, this is your London museum. And everyone needs to gaze at the Rosetta Stone and pretend to understand it.

Stunning building! A vast array of things to look at - we focused on the Egyptian displays and that took us a couple of hours to get round. It's worth planning what you want to see before you go. There is a fabulous book shop too which stocks a wide variety of things in addition to books. The food court is lovely. The museum is definitely a great place to visit.

Quite simply one of the most impressive museums in the world. Extremely lucky to have this treasure only a short train journey away. Architecturally, it manages to fuse old with the new combining the grandeur and monumentally impressive exterior with its centuries old stone work with a modern light filled interior main hall punctuated by a stunning honeycomb glass ceiling. This is all before even touching on the huge collection of objects, Art and artifacts that make up the museums collection. Covering every period and area of interest from the Egyptians to the Greeks to old world curiosities, there is absolutely something for everyone. Very easy to spend a whole day here and only scratch the surface. Highly highly recommended.

A really great museum, would recommend giving yourself a good couple of hours to thoroughly explore it though. The Greek and Egyptian collections were in my opinion the best as the variety, detail and amount of artifacts within were incredible. The sheer size of them was incredible and there were many statues to enjoy. The museum was slightly confusing to get around but very clean and the glass on the exhibits that had it was so clean you couldn’t even notice it was there. The museum is free and definitely worth a visit if there. There’s plenty to explore and is very easy to find with a quick walk through the park from the tube.

Not even going to lie, kind of a let down. Far too much space with nothing in it, badly organized, impossible to find anything even with a map. The center dome and library area are amazing, but then you kind of feel lost. The Chinese art is a highlight, with some simply stunning examples of Yuan Era pottery. Field Museum in Chicago is a far better value for your time and money.

Amazing museums, one of the absolute best in London. Such a wide variety of cultures is represented, it is truly an experience, you will learn a lot in a short time and it will open your mind to different regions of the world, eras of history and forms of art. Building in itself is absolutely magnificent. The whole place is worth a visit (allow for at least 3h for a good visit). Deserves more stars.
