Absolutely fantastic. We visited the restaurant: well-conceived dishes, perfectly prepared. Probably the best food I have ever eaten in Edinburgh. Beautiful space too, and excellent service. One last thing: the tea menu is excellent, and (this is so rare!) the loose leaf tea was perfectly measured. Will be back. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Could not have been better.

A quiet place in one of the best areas in Edinburgh. It's old fashioned style makes you feel like 19th century, looking outside, waiting to see horses and carts. Great place for guests.

Lovely rooms and bathroom. Bath fills up fast which is great in a hotel. Order room service but it was only ok - the caesar salad was completely c.o.v.e.r.e.d. in sauce I couldn't eat too much of it. BLT was good though and it came with root crisps which weren't great. Maybe the restaurant would be better? Can't fault the interiors of the place. It really is a treat to stay here. Great location and could get everywhere easily by walking.

Beautiful hotel.in Edinburgh. Our room was very spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't dine here but I'm sure the food would have been outstanding. Walking distance to everything.

Myself and my friend had an amazing stay! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and ensured that we had a comfortable stay. The Christmas decorations in the hotel were gorgeous and we were a perfect distance from visiting various attractions. The location was peaceful but still not too far from all the action. We will definitely return, thank you ☺️

Went here for afternoon tea for a special birthday and it was fantastic. The staff attention from the beginning when we walked into the hotel was lovely, and afternoon tea, in beautiful surroundings, with a choice of teas was the best we have ever had. Even when I had forgotten to mention a food allergy when booking it, it was no trouble and it was easily accommodated. We couldn't finish it all and they even provided a small box to take the spare cakes with us for later. I can't recommend this place enough, and if we ever come back to Edinburgh, we will have afternoon tea here again

I am so disappointed with my stay at the Bonham, and we were so looking forward to it. We paid £350 for a superior double and got put in a bog standard room... Definitely not worth that kind of money. The manager assured us this was a superior but their superiors range from massive and grand (as per the pics when we booked) to not very big or impressive (we suspect we were actually put in a townhouse double instead as this room looked exactly like those they had on their site for the cheaper rate). They did move us but again, nothing like the images of the room we had booked. Felt completely fobbed off and not at all like a valued customer. So many excuses. Left feeling quite angry actually and I never write bad reviews, yet here we are. The hotel is nice enough, breakfast is a bit rubbish, definitely not worth £22. Would not recommend. You can find much better places for far better prices and far better standard of customer care. Also the award winning beds are rock hard and not at all comfy

4/ 5

The Bonham Hotel is a quiet property located near the city center and main attractions, but in a calm neighborhood. All places have a classic decoration which provides a cosy feeling. The room we have stayed in was a Townhouse Double and it was a little bit small (but with a huge window with a view). The rooms are well equipped with several amenities but no air conditioning (we did not need it but in summer may be different). We have had some minor issues that were promptly handled by the reception staff. Regarding the breakfast we would have liked more options regarding the continental breakfast (more bread, ham, pastries options) - the cooked breakfasts are alright. The staff is polite and welcoming, but the Bonham has some more potential! I don't know if I would stay again, it is pretty and comfortable but I guess the 5 stars are a little too much. I would put it as a very good 4 star hotel.
