Terrible School. Do Not Attend!!!! I attended Barbara Speake Stage School for numerous years. The school is 100% lacking in academics, to say the teachers are awful is an understatement, they do not care in the slightest about their students education. The school owner Miss Speake has a poor attitude to any negative criticism made. Her response to the poor academic teaching is, ‘you get what you pay for’ which is the total wrong attitude to have. The artistic side of the school is standard, nothing special, very basic. The same dances get taught to different classes constantly, and the steps are always the same, nothing new is ever added. The worst choice I ever made was to attend this school, the school itself is extremely dated and in need of some serious work. The atmosphere when you enter the building is automatically tense and uncomfortable. The office staff are totally clueless, and never succeed at fulfilling you’re needs. This school caused me to lose so much confidence in myself, and also made me so unhappy. Do not be fooled by what this school tells you, it is not the ‘happy’ family friendly school that everyone makes out for it to be.

I honestly don’t have anything good to say about this school, I went to this school for many years

1/ 5

I honestly don’t have anything good to say about this school, I went to this school for many years, it was never a very ‘good’ school. It has always been missing something, weather it’s been to do with academic or vocational work. The principal of this school is nothing but RUDE, always informing people she’s struggling for money which is a complete lie as she is far from struggling and maybe if she invested some of her money into modernising her school and employing ‘decent’ teachers it would be a better and more successful place. In all the years I spent at this school I was always put down by both the academic and vocational staff, always being compared to others. No one encourages you or pushes you to do the best you can... Really wouldn’t want anyone else to have the experience I had with this school, stay away.

The Barbara speake stage school and agency are appalling the school expelled my 6 year old daughter

1/ 5

The Barbara speake stage school and agency are appalling the school expelled my 6 year old daughter for no reason leaving her with no school so i have to home teach her until a school place becomes available. Im a single mum on benefits and home schooling isnt cheap.because its an independent school legaly she can do this. She dosnt care about the kids at all and takes great pleasure in striking fear into children and parents. Yes this is a stage school for the young but please think carefully a normal school and outside lessons will give u more then at the school. As for the agency the ageny told me to buy an spp called 800 casting Stay away the agent actually is sole share holder and director. I attended the school and loved it i wanted the same for my daughter instead she crys herself to sleep asking why miss speak hates her and what did she do wrong. She is banned from the premises and cant continue with gymnastics even though outsiders are encouraged. If miss speake can do this to an innocent 6 year old she can do it to anyone .
