Within the University of Edinburgh campus building is this small but informative Anatomical Museum. A little hidden but worth tracking it down. Two elephant skeletons take prominent place.

Got the whole way there to find it was only open the last Saturday of the month to the public after online it said was open. Staff so rude and unhelpful WOULD NOT recommend even if I had off gotten in to see it! So hard to find too.

One of my favourite places ever. A beautiful collection, with a respectful and peaceful atmosphere, filled with history and incredible and educational specimens. Exceptional displays that I have never seen elsewhere in any anatomical museums.

A very interesting museum to visit if it is open. Only one room but a lot of material is housed there, with knowledgeable and friendly staff to help you out and explain some of the history behind the items). There's a lot to learn and depending on when you go, it's not very busy which is a plus.

What a great experience! Don't expect too much entertainment, it is just one large room with a lot of facinating, but sparsely labeled objects. We spent about 30 minutes there, and I am glad we did. Entrance is free, and make sure it is indeed open before you go there!

This museum is open on the last Saturday of the month, until 4pm. However, it is pretty titchy, so you don't need more than... maybe an hour, max. We arrived at 3.30, and managed to get round in time, as it's only the one room. It does have some pretty awesome elephant skeletons in the foyer downstairs, though, which are pretty epic.
