Stunning gothic venue full of fascinating nooks and crannies. It’s a student union of the University of Edinburgh but anyone can go in. It holds events as well as bars and restaurants. Lots of spiral staircases and unusual levels as well as windows onto amazing views here and there. The uni salsa society hold a monthly fiesta which is great fun and open to all; if you’re new to Latin dances there are Eden classes at the start of the JGHS! Held in the stunning debating hall on the top with a wonderful wooden floor and old panelling.

Still a very cool place to be but really decadent in some aspects... The air hockey table wasn’t working, there weren’t any pool bat with the tip available and the bars were lacking more than half of the beer brands...

Good and bad. Several bars/ cafes to choose from. Always a lively buzz. The library bar has a nice atmosphere and interesting decor, it's very chill. Drinks are pretty cheap. They used to have amazing nachos but I'm not so impressed now, and the pizza was so greasy I felt like I had to go on a diet for a month.

This is place isn't bad, the few times I have been there the staff were super polite. The reason I am rating very low is because I did not like the way the security guard came at me today while I was in the queue waiting. As soon I arrived in the queue he came straight away to me in a rude way asking if I had booked a table which I said no. Then he told me that I couldn't get inside. I just looked at him and then left. As mentioned above, I have been to your place a few times and some of those times it was very busy and nobody never told me if I had a table. I know he is only doing his job, but in my opinion it looked like he " did not want me there and was giving me an excuse so that I could leave. I know security guards when don't want somebody inside they will come with whatever excuse. I would appreciate that you guys would talk with your security guards in order to improve their service. Next time I will make a complaint to SIA.

The outdoor bar was very aesthetically pleasing and the drinks relatively cheap, atmosphere was nice. Staff however, 2 out of the 3 staff I encountered during my visit were unpleasant and rude. Won’t be returning.
