Having previously used an independent accountant who was at best 'flaky', I moved to Tax Assist Oxford. I now enjoy having the combination of personal service with the sense that I have the support of a larger franchise operation. This means that I know my accountants have been briefed with the latest changes in tax policy and requirements. They are also prompt to respond within minutes, unlike my previous accountant who kept 'losing' or forgetting my emails. I recently had a problem with 'Kashflow' software, and Tax Assist Oxford took up the issue directly with the software company. They had the clout to get my issue fixed. My previous accountant barely knew what a computer was. David Lushington usually gives me all the information I need to know (he is careful not to stray into formal advisory offerings) and I feel I have better gains from a tax efficiency sense than previously. For example, he recently gave me some scenarios concerning purchasing an electric vehicle. The only downsides I've experienced are that they were using a horrible secure email platform for a while (which they've changed) and there were a few hiccups when they changed PAYE provider, so I would give them 4.5 stars if I could, but since they're all nice people, here's 5.
