Lovely house and grounds. Amazing works of art by well known artist. Exhibition. Nice cafe. Worth a visit. It's on the 82 bus route. Bit of a walk though along Bark Hill Rd.

Elegant home of the Holt Family, with beautiful grounds available to the public. Two Turner paintings at eye level, a lovely coffee shop, and regularly changing special exhibitions. Two rooms for children to explore and well designed activity rooms with good disabled access throughout the building. Very well informed staff. The current exhibition 'Model Image: Fashion and photos from the 1950s' is listed as ending in 2019. The exhibition features the photographic life of international model, Jane Duncan, who was born locally. Very apt that her incredible images are close to her origins.

An absolute hidden gem. Always stuff going on. They do good food and cakes. There's loads going on. Go if you can.

Another of south Liverpool's hidden gems. Playground to the musicians of the city. Views for miles. Ancient oaks and a cafe to sate your appetite. An art collection too, of course! Why not.

Out of the way museum with some great art to see. Cafe on site. Free entrance. Interesting house and presentation. Friendly staff.

Lovely historic house with lots of history linked to Liverpool merchants. Carefully restored & now a museum & art gallery. Limited parking. Some interesting paintings & architecture. Also some great events: Victorian day with dancers & staff in costume & choir. A hidden gem & all for free

Very interesting little gem, you can feel the house is from another age. Upstairs shut at the moment, it's totally free but you can leave a couple of pounds if you like. Easy to park nearby.

Lovely visit this morning. Very Christmassy. All staff were pleasant and keen to tell us about the history of the house. Loved the period outfits and ghost story.

An enjoyable visit, not much original furniture left, but plenty of art to look, a few of them by famous artists. Some interesting displays upstairs. Tea shop not open when we went.

Beautifully preserved grand house. Some lovely paintings on display too. House is set in tranquil grounds with stunning views. Cafe was closed when we visited but will return in the next few weeks to enjoy an afternoon snack. Worth a visit!
