Lived in student accomdation in Stranmillis College. Lived with 11 girls who were all lovely, had a few nights out and got along well. Other than that the WiFi never works, the hall flooded the first week leaving us with no hot water for a week and no compensation for that, my plugs broke also and didn’t get fixed for a week, being catered is good however the fixed times means later days in uni you don’t get any dinner even though it’s included in your rent costs. Staff are not helpful at all- the office closes at 5pm so any problems after that you have to find the security guard who won’t be in his office until 8pm. The actual decor is 1970ish very very out of date. There is no freezer or proper cooker. Party’s/Pres happen every night on the campus in some flat which you’ll be able to hear, it can be great fun when your going out but not fun when you have a deadline the next day and all you can hear is music and drunk people (not much is done about this) It didn’t annoy me as much but I know a few girls in my flat didn’t drink so it was frustrating for them. Also if you are going to Queens University the walk is 25 minutes it is past elms, the location is not good. Overall I will never step place in stranmillis again let alone live there. The price is absolutely ridiculous I wouldn’t even pay 113 pound a month let alone a week. If you already have a room organised I would seriously reconsider and if your thinking about living here I would literally tell you anywhere else would be better than here
