The stones at the base of the fountain are in fact the remains of Brightons own megalithic monument. Lay upon the earth and allow your mind to be filled with images of the ancient old ones!

During Brighton Festival Fringe month May/June, occupied by The Spiegeltent and a host of other entertainment venues/food and drink. Usually flower gardens, seating around the Victoria Fountain and adjacent to Brighton War Memorial, dedicated to the Service Men and Women of Brighton, who gave their lives in the 1914-1918 War, including my maternal Grandfather, Cyril Thomas Harding; and those in the 1939-1945 War; the Egyptian Campaigns; and subsequent Campaigns. A pleasant area, if you don't mind the passing traffic.

Come to share your snacks, willing or not, with giant feral seagulls. Come to hear local buskers. Come to use the pretty basic cafe or the dealers' favourite public toilets. Come to get high on a weekend evening, sitting among the teen tokers. A Brighton high schooler institution.
