Great nurses and doctors but making appointments is almost impossible because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. The phone system for making appointments is so limited it's almost useless. Frustrating and a complete waste of time. This surgery used to be excellent, before it was joined to the new 3-tier Let's Make It As Difficult As Possible for Everyone system. I'd be quicker trying to get through to Theresa May.

All the Dr's and student doctors I've seen here have been excellent but the automated booking service is terrible. I had to go through countless options to finally get to an appointment I could make and when I finally opted for it it wasn't available!

Like other patients I suffered from the problems with the now superseded online system. But on Monday November 6th 2017 I was delighted to be able to book a GP appointment for the following day and the process took barely 2/3 minutes. WELL DONE TEAM! Less impressive is that on Nov 8th it took me me 6 attempts over a period of two hours to get through to reception by phone. I have been with the practice since March 1968 and remember the gas lights in the Gay Street waiting room! Born before the NHS was created, I am indebted to the current partners and their caring staff who have treated my family and I so well. THANK YOU

I have always had confidence in St James Practice and this has continued since becoming part of Heart if Bath. Doctors and nurses I have seen, mainly for routine stuff, all very pleasant. Receptionists do their best with what must be at times a very difficult job.

Shocking lack of service. On hold for 1 hour. Unhelpful dismissive team. But they still get paid by government. Disgusting. They leave people in need because they are ‘busy’. And we all aren’t? Resources poorly allocated and managed. Would never recommend this practice. The govt should assess their funding and place it elsewhere in our opinion.

Nurses are very good. But impossible to get an appointment. You have to phone them, and then you get the usual nonsense "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls" (what a surprise), "please bear with us - your call IS important to us " (of course it is). If you possibly can, avoid Heart of Bath.

Absolutely terrible service trying to get an appointment. It took over an hour for my call to be answered, only to be told there were no appointments for the rest of the month, and that I should call back at the end of the month to book one for next month! Really bad...I don't know what to do!
