A good hospital, also clean and spacious. There is a Cafe but no hot food. Parking is expensive however. Services available to patients are varied and of good quality care. However we did witness a disturbing event which though resolved wasn't good hence lower score.

The A&E department have been, in all but one of my numerous visits, very professional and empathetic with me. I am autistic and I have complex neurological problems, but the staff will actually listen to me when I'm describing what I know about them. They appreciate that I'm qualified in pharmacology and soon in applied neuroscience, and that I like to discuss it in scientific terms. And they give me the respect that I feel I deserve. The A&E department staff try their very best to accommodate for my autism, and they don't roll their eyes or moan at me like a couple of other hospital A&E departments have.

Doctor Wan saved my life. I will forever be in his debt. After four senior doctor saying nothing wrong, he was the one who knew what was wrong and 13 and a half hours of surgery job done. It was a long journey back to health but worth every moment now I have regained full health.

I had a wonderful experience here and I'm very satisfied with all the staff that looked after me and my baby. I was transferred from another hospital, because I was having a premature baby and the neonatal unit there was full. Everyone who worked with me: the surgeons, midwives, nurses, doctors, and especially the staff in the neonatal were very supportive and very welcoming. Although I had to get an emergency cesarean, my birthing experience there was great.

The Neuro Surgery team literally saved my life, and for that my family and I will be eternally grateful. Not only that, but when they conducted a post op MRI scan, they discovered that I had a lesion in my brain that I had probably had for maybe ten years or more. This will now be monitured on a yearly basis and action taken if necessary.

Awful experience. Turn up to have an ultrasound on my jaw. It was booked in for this so should have been on note. They then bought me in and tried to scan my stomach when I stopped them and asked them if they knew what they was scanning they said no. I told them they said they couldn’t do that so they closed the session down. Another professor came into the room and tried to scan the area. Then told me it’s very interesting. 2 weeks later they called me back for consultation to tell me there was nothing wrong with me and they are happy to discharge me. Luckily my dentist and myself knew there was something wrong. I am now at guys hospital and had major life threatening growth within my jaw. Would never come back to this hospital again. Could have died if I had listened to them. I have just had the tumor removed at guys hospital and nearly lost my life with how severe it was but guys were so prepared and knew what they were doing.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Not having a long-term illness, I've only been here sporadically. I came here for pains in my legs and was given physiotherapy exercises to do at home before being discharged. Once, I was given an appointment, only to be told the appointment had been cancelled when I arrived for it. Early this year, my dad was a long-term inpatient here and some of the nurses and surgeons were great. Others attempted to bully and belittle him. One nurse refused to get him a bedpan when he was too weak to walk. A young orderly racially abused him once. She later apologised. But there also were a number of nurses with whom my dad built great rapport, so not all bad. If you are ever a patient here, tread very carefully.

I have visited a few family members at St George’s. I am very impressed by all the facilities that are available here. The staff are happy to help, even without being asked. My family are greatful for a few alterations made to us by the pandemic. Questions we have asked have been clearly explained to us and with kindness and patience.

1/ 5

The secretary that's works in the liver ward could do with some compassion very rude when ringing to find out information about a patient, specially knowing living in a different country trying to find out information about a loved one. So rude several times when called. As if things aren't hard enough without being spoke to like that.
