Affectionately known as Teddy Hall. Has a claim to be "the oldest academical society for the education of undergraduates in any university" and is the last surviving medieval hall at the University. After more than seven centuries as a men-only college, it has been coeducational since 1979.

A joyous place. Why people insist in comparing it to Keble I have no idea. One a gothic neo-masterpiece, the other an example of late middle-ages splendour. If you cannot see the beauty in both, then perhaps Dubai is more to your liking. As for the person looking for a hall full of teddy bears, it’s in the second quad, just after the entrance to Wonderland.

2/ 5

Initial expectations were quickly dashed by the inconveniently sized entrance arch. I was surprised to see it was so small, especially in comparison to the standard majestic Oxford style, such as is displayed at Keble. Whilst willing to forgive this initial offence, the proceeding 10 minutes can only be described as the foulest of my life. The general atmosphere made the canteens of Mos Eisley appear amicable, whilst the number of puffer jackets on such a warm summers day left me deeply confused. Why does this place exist? Where is the Teddy Hall that people speak of? Which way to KEBLE? These were a few of the questions I was left with as I made my escape.

5/ 5

The College also has a number of shorter-term academic post-holders, such as Career Development and Research Fellows (whose posts are usually of three years duration), Laming Fellows (holders of one- or two-year research fellowships for those engaged in comparative work) and College Lecturers (holders of fixed-term academic appointments which carry tutorial responsibilities). At any one time, the College also has in residence a number of distinguished academic visitors from around the world. Finally, the College has a number of Honorary, Emeritus and Supernumerary Fellows. These members of the College are collectively known as the senior members. Details of current senior members – in all of the above categories – are to be found in this part of the website.

A modest college compared to the bigger ones. Nevertheless, it carries great spirit; pride itself in huge and vibrant community; rich and enthusiastic in supporting students. My year here has been a privilege and may you enjoy it too!
