I will always consider my exposure to this place as the worst experience of my life. I was a victim of the notorious Duggan, but fortunately in a small way - groping and cuddling - compared to other Bedians some of whom were driven to suicide. I am always embarrassed by the fact that my younger sister saw through the sanctimonious drivel peddled in her religious school far more quickly than I did. One of many, many disgusting features of Bede’s was its practice of placing a copy of the, then, ManchesterGuardian in the main corridor for us to read, but with material that might offend Holy Mother Church excised.

I started my time at St Bede's in 1948. I have had a life rich in experiences, including military and business. Mgr Cooke was head when I started, followed by Mgr Duggan. My time at St Bede's is remembered with great fondness. The traditions and teachings have helped me to be successful in several careers. Thank you school, keep it going!
