Delighted with this wonderful school. Have children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 2. Both are happy, have friends and are learning well. St Andrew's pioneers creative learning across all subjects from Nursery to Year 6. Parents love this about the school. The headteacher and staff team are amazing. They are caring, clearly love their work and are popular with children (and parents!). btw.. i have a child in Year 7 who has transitioned really well from St Andrew's into secondary school. The children they send out are prepared for the big change!

This could be a great school but unfortunately it is let down considerably by its head teacher. This head is extremely unsupportive of children with extra needs to the extent that her attitude has deeply affected many of these children and their parents. Yes she will be fine with you if you are a family who tows the line and does everything right (and hopefully you will continue to do so!) and you are experiencing no problems but even then many other parents I have spoken to have definitely not found her the most approachable head teacher and she can come across as very rude and very unkind. A huge warning to single mums or those who find themselves on their own to bring up their children whilst at the school. I have had a lot of experience and know many other mums first hand who have been reported to social services by this head teacher not because they are in any way deserving of this but simply because Mrs East will kick you when you are down. She will build up a case against you based on the smallest things, even your child coming to school with a hole in their shoe or being late and then go to social services expressing her 'concerns'. She will then lie about other things like your child not doing well at school or having poor attendance when these 'facts' are often not true at all. She will be persistent in raising her 'concerns' with social services to the point that any mums already experiencing challenges in their lives will find things quickly becoming extremely stressful. This head teacher will not only offer very little support but will also go out of her way to make things difficult to the point that some even have their children taken away from them because of her lies and way of taking small innocent things and putting them all together to make a case against parents. Yes there is always a case that is justified but the vast majority are absolutely not. Many single mums whose children have attended this school have suddenly found themselves in a living nightmare when this should never, ever have happened. Some have been lucky and managed to quickly get their children into other schools but others have found their lives destroyed at the hands of this head teacher. Everything written here is unfortunately accurate from a first hand parent's point of view and also having spoken to many other parents in similar situations whose children have attended the school. This head teacher also delights in bullying brilliant and popular teachers at the school some of whom were long standing members of staff. These wonderful teachers have had to leave for no other reason than how badly they were treated by Sue East and there are those teachers who have suffered long term health repercussions as a result. For too long this school, its teaching staff, parents and pupils have suffered at the hands of this head teacher. I cannot reiterate enough how much of a better school it would be for everyone without her.
