I'm terribly sorry to report a very disappointing experience that I had today - the 29th July 2019, at around 5pm - at this shop. I bought a few items and was charged £22.05. I paid in cash and asked for the receipt, which had not been offered. Leaving the shop I had a feeling that the cost was more than I expected. I checked the receipt and there were items being charged that I had not bought, like bananas, 'fruits', Naan bread and some unrecognisable item. I returned to the shop and the attendant - he seems to be the only one serving at this time - replied to my concern in a very casual way, not showing any discomfort. I asked what had happened and he said - "it just got mixed up with the previous shopper". But in fact, the items which I had not bought were not the first in the list. They were just mixed up with my shopping. He gave me back the money, which amounted to £5.75, the equivalent of 35% of the total. I am not convinced that it was a mistake and the lack of a apology, or even an expression of concern, was very disconcerting. As a result of this experience, I’m wondering whether there were other similar “ mistakes" in the course of the many times I went to this shop before. In short, I’ve lost trust, which is very sad, since this is a shop that I and so many of my friends visit regularly. What can Spice Gate do to restore our trust?
