My first and last visit. Paying £20+ for a ticket to a venue in Central Manchester to see a legendary DJ play on his final tour I was expecting something a little more pleasing. Initial enthusiasm after a fast, friendly and efficient entry procedure soon waned as we descended into the hot, sticky subterranean hollow. The limited bar wasn't too bad but after I found my £14 for 2 Peroni and 2 bottles of water has gone to the 'Deaf Society' from my bank account. Take nothing away from the sweaty, heaving crowd, very friendly, but from then on it just got hotter and hotter and stickier and stickier. Countless people were complaining of the heat and no air to breath. The early exit came as the sound system on our right hand side of the room kept cutting out. I'm guessing from the amplifiers over heating, as well as us! 10pm till 4am was the planned duration but we managed to put up with the steaming cauldron until 1am when we initially went for air to breath outside but couldn't bring ourselves to go back in. Glad I was there to support Menno, sad the experience wasn't a fun one.
