Came in today (the Friday before Halloween) and obviously the shop was heaving. A lot of people looking for last minute stuff, including myself. There was a young girl in store who asked if I needed help, I showed her my online basket and she zipped around and picked everything up for me. One item wasn’t available but she helped me find a suitable alternative. Genuinely such a pleasant experience thanks to this girl who helped me with a smile. Thanks!

Staff members are treated very poorly, I had what I can assume is a manager being highly patronising and rude towards some younger (look like students) staff. I approached one of the younger girls and told her not to worry she was doing a great job, I asked if he was always like that with them and she responded ‘yes but we’ve just gotta deal with it I suppose’. I’ve heard similar stories about how staff and even some customers are treated with no respect but until the other day I had never noticed it before. I have visited the store numerous times in the past but definitely won’t be returning (costumes are so much cheaper online anyway)

Bought a costume today for almost £50 and when I got home it's no more than a thin piece of mesh barely sewn together, the stitching is going all over the place and coming undone. I know costumes aren't meant to be great quality but this is absolutely unacceptable for the price, Its unwearable! it looks like it's from the poundland Halloween section, which honestly is probably better quality than this tat

They stock a very large variety of great costumes and fancy dress accessories here. The staff were really helpful and friendly and there are places where you can try on the costumes. The only downsides are that some costumes are a bit pricey and they only issue credit notes that you can use in store, not refunds, but it's understandable so that people don't use a costume once then return it. I'll definitely come back in future.

Thank you Neville!! After calling Hobby Craft and Card Factory and being met with less than helpful answers, I called Smiffy’s Bold Street. A nice lady said she’d count the balloon sticks, find out the price and call me back - already great service! But then Neville, who I assume is the Manager, went above and beyond and actually went out to acquire some more balloon sticks for me! What a star. Great service. Thank you!!!
