(Visited Jan 2019) My friend and I came for a late tea: I had the Creamy Mushroom Linguine which was indeed creamy and contained plenty of mushrooms, but was served lukewarm. Before we had received our desserts, a straight-faced member of security sent us downstairs. Luckily, there were a couple of empty tables for us to sit at. We reminded our server that we had ordered puddings- the response was that she knew and was just about to get them, but I’m unsure. The Warm Mini Churros and Macaringues were pleasant little puddings to top off our dinner. I have to say this is the second time I’ve visited here for food only to be forgotten about.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, you can sometimes wait a while to be served/receive your order but they are busy sometimes. Manchester prices but I don't mind paying the extra for the atmosphere.

Our host Sarah was so lovely. Our train back to Glasgow was cancelled and she made sure we had the best experience and turned our day around. I would recommend this bar to anyone who visits the area. Buy one get one free on cocktails and such a lovely atmosphere! The world needs more Sarah’s! Thank you for a great experience.

Absolutely love this bar. The staff are always really helpful and friendly. The cocktails are buy one get one free which is a fantastic offer and well worth the money. The food is always good and extremely tasty, a really friendly place with a relaxed vibe, would definitely recommend

Had a lovely day at slug and lettuce today, the young lady behind the bar I think she said her name was Leigh , was so polite and had great customer service my drinks was made quickly and tasted amazing! Such a welcoming place and the manager I think people call him Jesus got us seated and made us feel so welcome, excellent place will definitely come back again soon😌

Came to slug and lettuce Portland street today on my way down to the station and was served by a lovely girl called Chloe, she was so polite and had great manners and I’ve never tasted a cocktail so nice! Not only did she help me on my way to the station but she definitely made me smile before my journey nothing but laughter and good cheap cocktails can’t ask for nothing better to be honest.

Been into slug and lettuce today. Food very good and tasty. Good value, but what did let it down was, watching the staff happy with themselves but interaction with customers poor. No smiles. Tables cleared bit no wiping of tables at all - a little worrying when all this is going in at the moment. 😶
