Be careful read the contract (I know everyone hates doing this and it is confusing jargon, ask questions and write their response on the contract you sign ask the responder to initial this), my son decided the course he was on at uni was not for him and found another course in another city, which was fine with everyone except for the accommodation contract he'd signed up for with the letting agents. Payment needed before the second term and before the student loan came (back to me the guarantor), now we are told we have to wait until the replacement tenant pays before we get a refund of rents for months already paid for that he is now responsible for. This is doubling up on responsibility for the rent owed by the letting agent, IS THIS LEGAL?

Sinclair Properties have truly outdone themselves by not only being the most unprofessional letting agency I have ever come across with but also a law breaking letting agency who happily gave my spare keys to the maintenance team without 24 hours notice (or any notice). When electrical faults occurred in the flat (including a broken fridge freezer, dishwasher and black smoke coming out of the washing machine), actions to resolve the matters took weeks or even months to resolve with no updates on the process whatsoever until I chased it up! Sinclair of course then blamed the landlord for the delays, forgetting about the fact that they have responsibility to chase up the process for me! Sinclair Properties treat my flatmate and I without any respect and is far from being a hassle free letting agency for students. I would have given them 0 stars if I could, think twice before going with Sinclair!
