Firstly Simpson Millar took years to do hardly anything on this personal injury claim, then as time was approaching for the limit to the claim I had to keep reminding them to make sure it was done in time, Also during this time they took on a 2nd claim against the same defendant which also was caused on the same day, 12th or 13th August 2012 if my memory serves me correctly. Simpson Millar during this time did not bother at all about making reasonable adjustments for my spinal injuries (the fact that typing caused me pain) and also that I had a sight impairment that I clearly informed them. I shouldn't have to get my carer to rewrite everything they did so that I could read it. I told SH at Simpson Millar this on a rather regular basis however her receiving my medical records with proof of the spinal injuries and sight impairment didn't change her stance on making reasonable adjustments for my disabilities. When the time was close 3 years later it was like a mad rush, I had to go to different things i.e. experts I was told by SH that I would get all costs back at total of £1,600 in costs. Simpson Millar did everything to get me to accept a lower amount. (Have emails to prove it.) Only my pushing got me what should have been paid. The 2nd claim what they said they were going to deal with by NF was suddenly dropped after the 3 years had expired with excuses that NF believed the claim would not have been successful. NF conveniently changed the date to make it look like it was still in date when it wasn't (Checked with 2 other lawfirms) In relation to my costs I ended up with £300 odd out of the £1,600. The complaints process at Simpson Millar is a complete waste of time with them just lieing about things to get them out of hot water supposedly, to date I am still waiting on my SAR which they also didn't comply with, It amazes me that they have notes of phone calls at their convenience but NF firstly stated I wasn't allowed to record phone conversations, (NF I suggest you learn law RIPA 2000) I was then told that NF took a dim view of people recording calls, Its clear that NF does not take into account making reasonable adjustments for disabled people, In the complaints process it would have been Simpson Millar's opportunity to put things right but no they much preferred to lie and weasel there way around things. (IT SHOWS THERE DISHONESTY) In a nutshell, Simpson Millar failed to secure, an apology from the defendant failed to recover my costs (or kept it) Lost me a perfect legitimate claim via negligence. Discriminated against my disabilities. Then it comes on here saying that it recovered for me what it should of done. The failing to make reasonable adjustments has been confirmed by legal ombudsman review (failing to make reasonable adjustments is discrimination under sections 20 and 21 of the Equality Act 2010. I challenge Simpson Millar to respond here in the open to what the Legal Ombudsman states,
